great roller cover
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given the Purdy WhiteDove 9-inch 3/8-inch nap roller cover for free to review. I love this cover. It is for smooth to semi-smooth surfaces. I painted smooth drywall and it worked really well because it is lint free so I did not have to pick out lint that would ruin the smooth finish and take up extra time. I also painted a drywall with a textured finish and the nap was enough that the paint covered the surface evenly. It works with latex and oil paint but I only used latex paint. It washed out really well and the roller can be used multiple times.

Love this Purdy WhiteDove roller sleeve!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received a free product sample of a Purdy WhiteDove Lint Free paint roller sleeve! I really like the performance of this one. It slid onto my paint roller handle with ease. I really liked the way it soaked up the paint onto the roller sleeve. No dripping & it really covered my walls with ease. Paint went on smooth and streak free. There was no lint with this roller. Product also stated could be used with all Latex & Oil based paints. I was using Latex at the time. My walls covered beautifully. The sleeve held together nicely. I will purchase these from now on in the future. All opinions are 100% my own!

Uneven Flat Spot
I bought these rollers for my first room paint because they were recommended. Maybe that was an older product, because I immediately had the same uneven "flat tire" rolling that other reviewers also experienced. I just could not make a solid mark on the wall without skipping with each rotation and hearing a rumbling noise due to uneven contact with the wall. I tried switching to another sleeve in the pack and got similar results. I tried switching frames too with no improvement.
I started to think the problem was my lack of skill, but I bought a roller sleeve from another brand and the results were much better.
Will be avoiding Purdy rollers in the future.

inconsistent quality
I've been painting professionally for over 30 years and the last few years I've gone back and forth with this product. When you get a good one, it can't be beat! However some roller covers seem to have a flat spot which rolls similar to a tire that is not round. Forget rolling a straight line along trim because it rolls side-to-side. Very frustrating when you're particular about your work.

Hit or miss
I've been painting for over 50 years, and never seen a roller do this before. I'm painting a ceiling flat white over flat white, paint is a premium bear paint, I'm getting hit and miss spots, after 2 coats I still have to go over certain areas again. I tried 1/2 inch and 3/8th nap. Never again will I use your rollers again. I love your brushes but not your rollers.

Does not leave a smooth finish as stated.
In regard to Purdy White Dove rollers, during the long process of repainting/sanding kitchen cupboards we are now using Purdy White Dove rollers to paint the doors, what a mess, lint everywhere, have to go back & sand again to remove all the lint from my doors! We are using expensive oil based paint, ended up being costly along w/the price of Purdy rollers. Highly disappointed in the result these rollers left. I reviewed prior to buying these @ Home Depot & thought was getting a high grade product w/a smooth finish, so wrong!

Finish that can’t be beat!
I use to use the colossus but the finish was not impressive, it is a great production cover but for new construction I prefer the 3/8 white dove ! It really gives a lint free perfect finish ! I’m a professional and I know what looks good. To all the diy people that are complaining about the cover well this is why a professional should do your painting! We know what to do about the (flat tire) or (lint) statements quit reviewing bad on a great product an let us show you how to work the roller! Have a blessed day

Lint Lint Lint
I used packaging tape to prep/remove loose lint routinely from my rollers. After 10 pieces of lo td up tape I gave up . I am SO glad these were returned before the lint ended up all over my hard work. Here is the LAST piece of tape
