Hello. I am considering this mailbox since I need a vertical one. I would like to know whether a key is ALWAYS required top open the front panel or can't it simply be closed without having to lock it? Thanks.

Hello, The front panel stay closed only when it's in lock position. I suggest that you could leave the key in the lock, if you don't need your mail to be secure. Most mailboxes with a large front panel need to be locked to stay closed. Thanks,

This is a large size box, with better features than other boxes available on the market at more than double price. One of the features I find it important is the door itself, which is provided with metal sides and a box at the bottom, compared to other expensive boxes of which doors are just a flat, curved metal sheet. Another feature is the top opening, which is long enough for dropping large size objects, but at the same time narrow enough to prevent fingers sneaking in. This is a well designed mail box for the price. I am satisfied with it and I recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by baja_524 from I purchased this for a College Student Union indoor mailbox. It is very sleek and the design is accommodating to all size document envelopes. My only disappointment is that although it is a locking mailbox, the sides are not secure, the metal is welding only on the back of the unit and the sides where it bows slightly, are not secured. If confidential documents were in this outside, someone could definitely pry back the side panel and easily remove whatever was inside. I would recommend this as an internal box, not external.

En fait, l’ouverture du bas laisse tomber les lettres!!! Pas très pratique. De plus, s’il n’y avait pas ce défaut de fabrication, je dois dire que vous êtes obligés de barrer la boîte pour le fermer. Vous ne pouvez pas la laisser débarrée puisque c’est la barrure qui retient la porte de la boîte.

They are flush mounted and open forwards, so there is no need for a mounting bracket or spacers like many other mailboxes. Will fit 8.5”x11” letter sized packages 1cm thick. Thicker and it will not fit past the “finger blocker”.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JamesDuncan from Very Light Gauge Metal Very light gauge metal, not very sturdy, and mounting holes are not inline with the opening causing the screws to go in on angles pulling the box out of alignment. Not worth the steep price, look elsewhere.
