Rated 5 out of 5 by hotpotato from Good stuff Bought this stuff to see if it would help removing 1000sqft of popcorn ceiling. I was sceptical at first when applying it, but the popcorn came off cleaner than cream cheese. It's a little expensive if you're doing large areas, but we just watered it down and it still worked great on unpainted popcorn.

My husband and I have been remodeling our home. The bathroom has popcorn ceiling and we have been so hesitant on messing with it because we knew it would take some work removing the ceiling. The Max strip popcorn ceiling remover has done wonders! My husband sprayed it on and we let it set around 20 minutes. We went in their with a five in one and started scrapping. It literally peeled right off. It took hardly any effort at all. It just peeled off so easily. I was so happy. We have decided to do it on the rest of the house now so ce we know it can be done so easily.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Max Strip Popcorn Ceiling Remover was the perfect product for getting rid of the unsightly popcorn ceiling in my kitchen. We used to have a drop ceiling and my husband removed it a few years ago and decided to popcorn texture the upper ceiling and I have hated it ever since. It yellows easily and it's impossible to dust. EVERYTHING gets stuck in it. This remover was just the ticket to get my ceiling smooth again. So easy to use and extremely effective. Definitely need to let it soak overnight to make it easier to scrape off, but works very well!

Yes, it’s messy and yes it’s work but this really helps make it faster process. We used a roller to brush the gel onto the ceiling. It took about an hour to coat the ceiling. Then we applied a layer of plastic coating to cover the ceiling while we waited. We tested at an hour to see if ceiling would scrape easily. It wasn’t quite ready so tried in 2 hours and it was easily able to remove. Scraped the popcorn texture away easily. Overall great weekend project!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been in my house for about 15 years and I have painted the walls but the only thing I did not tackle was the popcorn ceiling in the kitchen. I wanted nothing to do with the job of removing the popcorn ceiling. I finally couldn't take it anymore and so I used this to tackle the job... and ut did a great job! All I did was apply to the ceiling and covered with plastic then I left it on for about 11 hours . I then used the scraper and got to scraping. I was really surprised when I saw it coming off! This worked great! I will recommend this if you have popcorn ceilings I just wish I would have used this years ago now I really liked the way my ceiling looks

Accordingly, I have embarked on removing it as soon as I can. Anyone that has attempted to can ascertain to the difficulty and mess. I have tried various techniques, recommendations, and ‘hacks’ in the past with limited success. This product—Max Strip Popcorn Ceiling Remover— did work relatively well in helping to strip off the popcorn, but it was still so much work and hassle. Instructions were easy and straightforward. The jug is a decent size, but I found that I needed to much more in order to make a dent. Overall, I felt it did a satisfactory job, but it still needs some improvement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had most of the popcorn ceilings in our home removed before we moved in, but there are still a few areas left with popcorn ceilings that have been on the “to do” list for a while. This is just the product I needed to help me remove the popcorn ceilings in those areas. It is very easy to use - the gel brushed on smoothly and didn’t drip. I followed the instructions, and sure enough, the popcorn ceiling scraped right off. It’s also great that this is not toxic and biodegradable!

So we tried this product out. You need to prep the area surrounding the area you do not want to strip. Our ceiling was painted over so we needed to apply a 2nd coat of this. After applying be sure to put a plastic covering over the areas so that the product does not dry out. On the bottle it recommends that you leave the product on the popcorn ceiling anywhere from 4-12 hours. We decided to start removing at the 12 hour mark because of the paint over. Using a scraper, the painted over popcorn ceiling came off really easily. It was a lot of work but worth it. I would recommend this product to those want to rid themselves of popcorn ceilings!
