Don't buy the SmartRoller
I have an old Paintmate and lost the paint can cover and the fill tube. I thought I buy another one and use the paint can cover with both. When i went to buy another Paintmate all i could find was the SmartRoller so I bought it so I could get my project back on track. I thought I'd use the new SmartRoller. Mistake. The SmartRoller wouldn't draw more than 1/3 of the tube with paint. No matter what I did it wouldn't draw anymore paint. I gave up for the day. I cleaned it up and went to bed. The next day I tried again. The SmartRoller wouldn't draw any paint at all. What a disappointment and waste of time and money. Don't buy the SmartRoller. I wish I hadn't.

Debated buying this, I’m glad I did 10/10 happy
My wife and I were about to redo a room for our baby in our new house. Iv just usually used the hand rollers in the past and was wanting to try something different. I saw this and was debating on buying it and I’m glad I did. In a room similar to the one I used the smart roller I completed in easily half the time AND used half the paint I couldn’t believe it. This already paid for its self, Im able to return the two cans I usually would need to finish a room when I painted by hand roller before! Being a new home owner and soon to be parents need to redo a home this is going to be a huge help once again saving me TIME and MONEY!

I wish I read the reviews first
I'm returning this product. I wish I had read the reviews first. I have used a similar product in the past and it worked great. Just like many others, my roller cover kept falling off spilling paint all over. I takes quite a bit of pressure to apply a good covering...but wait, there goes the cover again. Then fine for most of the ceiling so I let my guard down...but paint all over again. who wants to use a product that they fear any second will cover them with paint again? The worst part is that I'm helping my dad who was pretty convinced I was doing something wrong. Can't wait to show him the reviews.

One and Done!
Bought this product thinking it would be helpful to paint a ceiling and it was! After that one use, however, I want to break it in half. I spent over and hour meticulously cleaning the many part after the first use only to find my time wasted. This product does not work as well the second time. I tried painting a wall today. The paint spewed unevenly from the holes and the dispenser kept sticking or not pushing the paint out at all. This is not user error, this is a poorly made product. Will be going back to the regular paint roller and tray because this was not worth the hassle.

using the Wagnet smart roller
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this item about a month ago.Came down with some sickness and just now writing the review. I like the roller because I don't have to keep going back to get paint out of paint bucket, works good on flat surfaces, can put a lot of paint on wall in short period of time, time saver, would be a fifinate time saver in large areas,works well overhead if ceilings are not high, keeps you off the ladder, needs to have splatter shield included. It is a little hard to clean and it leaked a little bit.Overall I would recommend this item.

Not worth the money
After watching the demo video, we thought this would be a good product to use to paint our daughter's room. Not so much. No matter how fast or slow we filled the tube, it never fully filled with paint. The paint does not come out on the roller evenly, causing the paint to go on the walls unevenly. More paint comes out closer to the unit then on the other end of the roller. The roller is very ackward to use when painting the bottom of the wall. It is almost too long to use closer to the bottom. We used higher quality paint and we are not sure if it is the paint or the roller but we will have to do at least two coats of paint to cover the walls. We are going from a pastel green to a dark purple and the walls are not covered well. We even used more paint that it said we would need to. We are not impressed with this product.

Big disappointment!!!
I have debated over replacing my old roller with a Smart Roller for so long and finally purchased one to make the job of painting my granddaughters bedroom easier. What a big disappointment - I have wasted the afternoon reading and rereading the manual, reading hints and reviews online, regreasing every part it shows to grease and still, it will not bring paint into the barrel. I have pumped enough times to fill the bathtub, pumped fast, pumped slow, all to no avail. Perhaps I just got a bad apple, but I will be returning this to the store and go back to my old traditional roller.

Best thing ever!!
The Wagner Smart Roller cuts painting time in half. We used it to paint our exterior. While I did trims and borders with a paint brush, my husband would follow with the roller. There was no need for a paint tray, no opening and closing the paint can, pouring the paint, cleaning up the excess paint you lose when you do pour it...none of that! The assembly is easy. You just fill it up and go. The refill process is easy, quick and clean. The roller is lightweight. The application is as smooth as you want it to be since you control the amount of paint you want to apply to the area. It also comes with a cover to prevent splatter. Disassembly & clean up is easy also.
