We have 3 decks and all have to be done again this year when we just done them last year. Alot of work to again wont buy again. Old stain was better before they changed

Rated 5 out of 5 by Des_can_do from Nice Natural Color Nice stain. Gives a natural looking Cedar color which goes on easily and covers well. There is still a question of life as the lower grade version of this stain showed deterioration after just one year on the horizontal railing surfaces, so I am trying this supposedly better version (6 year instead of 4 year life).

Rated 1 out of 5 by Gretch from Flakes off in less than a year Useless sealer. The coating flaked off in less than a year, even in areas where there was no traffic. I put this on a very expensive new ceder deck. Even after two more applications the sealer kept flaking off. Don't buy this stuff.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SC1291 from Nice Colour But, Does Not Last - Not Worth It Bought and applied this stain last year and this spring there is barely anything left on all horizontal surfaces. The colour is beautiful but, doesn’t last. We applied to new wood, old wood and freshly cleaned wood and it flaked off and is spotty on all surfaces. Had to buy more this year as the vertical surfaces held up well and there are too many vertical surfaces to start over with another stain this year. Expect to sand and reapply every year.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Foboman from Do not use on horizontal surfaces! Will not last Love the colour, loved the application however, disappointed in the product. Like all other reviews here, the stain did not hold up to its advertised lifespan. Particularly on horizontal surfaces where water and snow can settle. Applied to brand new Cedar deck in Oct 2020. Keep in mind, this deck has seen little to no foot traffic due to covid. After 6 months (1 fall, 1 winter), it had faded, and lost its ability to repel water. At a year mark, Oct 2021 all flat surfaces were peeling off. After 18 months, 2 winters, it look terrible and needs to be restained. I've attached pics at each stage. I should mention the vertical surfaces are doing considerably better and might last 3 years. You could get away with using this on a fence. However, my advice: save yourself some time, effort and money, and avoid it altogether, especially on a deck!
