Cutting plastic and laminate parts requires the use of a specialized utility knife. The OLFA PC-L utility knife resists impacts well with its solid ABS handle mean easy and precise blade adjustments. The knife is preloaded with a PB-800 tungsten steel reversible blade and contains 2 spare blades in the handle. Limited lifetime warranty.

Best Cutting Tool for PLA-Plates and ABS-Plates
I love this tool, it makes cutting PLA plates and ABS plates in model making so much easier.
You don't need much strength and you can get very straight lines with a cutting ruler.
But I haven't quite figured out how to break them yet, that doesn't work so well with PLA plates if the plates are too big.
That's why you like to cut out pieces of the cutting mat.
Is there a recommendation for a cutting mat?

Great for scoring/cutting acrylic/plexi
Used to make over a thousand small pieces (140mm X 60mm) out of 2 4'x8' sheets of plexi. Never even had to change the blade. Fast and effective.

WORKED GREAT
I have used the cutter to score aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum prior to snapping off. This works well on long aircraft parts such as spars and long wing skins. After scoring and snaping off the part, the edges require very little post-cut treatment.
