Designed for Cast Iron, but...
I had a 3" threaded black PVC pipe I did not want to take the trouble to replace, but was having a hard time finding a flange to fit it. I used this altho' it is designed for cast iron pipe and it fit well on the inside of the 3" black threaded PVC pipe. The flange designed for 3" white PVC not the one designed for 3" or 4" white pvc would not fit mine...

The product is charm. The preparation to use it is the challenge. Once I removed the OLD flange and cleaned the inside of the cast iron pipe with a grinding wheel and the drill. The piece fits like a glove. Check your depth on the underside of the PVC flange. You do not want to be above 1/4" from the floor line.

toilet flange
This item installs easily slides inside the 3 inch drain pipe. The problem I have is that I can't find a wax ring to fit it. Since this slides inside the 3" pipe the hole is too small for the wax ring to fit it. The wax ring that came with my new toilet will not fit, I went and bought a new wax-less ring that will not fit either.

Life Saver
Well made and durable. Used a Lowe's Kobalt 3/16" carbide tip drill bit and a 1/2" Ridgid hammer drill to drill four 2-1/2" holes in concrete to install flange. Mounted flange with 1/4"x2-1/4" Tapcon concrete bolts, available at Lowes. Drilling holes in concrete is time consuming--approximately 1 hour per hole. Previous leaded flange had ripped off and created a disaster.

Beware
This flange fits inside a 3" waste line yes. But there is no wax ring of any type made that fits this flange. They all fit 3" or 4" waste lines, but this flange receives a 2" wax ring, which are not made. I installed the flange and found out the hard way, after numerous wax rings and the "no" wax ring types. Your toilet will never seat correctly. DO NOT BUY THIS.

Perfect for fixing a broken PVC flange
Bought this to repair a cracked and broken PVC toilet flange. It seemed a bit loose in the opening so I used some silicone sealant and screwed it down. Also used an oversized wax ring. So far it is working great with no leaks after one month.

Wax rings will not work with this 3" flange
This flange fits inside the pipe reducing the inside diameter 2 7/8". Standard wax rings will not fit inside this flange. I have to go get another flange and return this.
