This Oatey shower drain includes a filter and is made of durable ABS plastic and rust-resistant stainless steel.
- Comes with receptor drain base
- Includes stainless-steel strainer
- Solvent weld over 2-in ABS DWV pipe
- Solvent weld over 2 in. ABS DWV pipe and is ideal for slab construction
- Fiber and rubber washer provides drain body with airtight seal to the shower base
- 2 in. ABS Schedule 40 DWV pipe is secured with a mechanically compressed gasket that does not require caulking
- Includes drain tightening wrench for easy installation
- Included drain cover helps keep drain clear of unwanted items to keep it flowing freely with fewer clogs
- Drain top also accommodates Oatey 4-1/4 in. Universal Snap-Tite Strainers, available in a variety of designer finishes (not included)

Bad design for leak proof installation
This is a terrible design of a shower drain. The lower part had 4 gaps in the thread which allowed the water to flow up when a clog happened, or too much water filled the drain and created a pool. The water would sip up through the under-gasket and leak out to the underside. There is no functional purpose for these 4 gaps in the thread. They should be threads completely then using Teflon tape would seal the upper part and lower part. This is a terrible design for a shower drain.
