When I initially connected to the 20 lb propane tank, no regulator, had good flane, etc. after initial connection & start up it doesn’t have the big flame anymore? Is their something about the fitting that connects to tank, not unseating valve?

Works great for burning weeds!
It DOESN'T require a regulator. Very important to open tank valve SLOWLY AND MINIMALLY at first. Once torch has been ignited then you can adjust tank and handle needle valve for more/less pressure.....flame intensity.

No pressure regulator
Without a pressure regulator, you essentially have a very large cigarette lighter, there is no power and the advertised uses are pretty much out of the picture. You need to buy separately, although if you're advertising a roofing torch, it should be included.
