Sit back and enjoy the peace of a mosquito-free yard this summer with the Mosquito Magnet(R) Patriot Plus mosquito trap. Easy to install and use, it protects up to 1-acre for maximum lawn coverage and is designed to withstand even the harshest of environments. It is equipped with an extra-long 50 ft power cord and lawn clips. Once turned on, the odourless trap starts working immediately, emitting carbon dioxide, heat and moisture to attract mosquitoes and break the breeding cycle with noticeable results in as little as 7-10 days. The large self-contained rigid net allows for increased performance and reduced emptying frequency, as well as effortless disposal and replacement without having to come in direct contact with dead insects. 1-year warranty.

Can this be converted to natural gas?
That would be a very good idea. I haven"t looked at the burner assembly, but if it is the same one commonly used in a typical barbq burner, the jet is probably interchangeable to a natural gas jet. You would naturally have to switch the service line as well. Any good barbq shop could do it for you

I have an older model Flow Tron Mosquito trap to cover about 1 acre in size .we used it successfully for a couple of years ,now we want to use it again and so got new propane and a new attractant. How do we get the command keys to work is there batteries?
I had an older model before purchasing a new model this year. I found that contacting Mosquito Magnet Customer Support at 1-800-953-5737 very helpful with older models. Best to have serial# handy when calling

I was thinking of running this only in the evening or at night. Can this be controlled by plugging the electrical into a timer? Is the Propane controlled by the Electrical or do I need to turn that off manually?
The mosquito magnet needs to run continually. As the idea is that it interrupts the larva stage. On the mosquito magnet website it explains this in depth

Do I need attraction strip?
The mosquitoes will be attracted to the carbon dioxide emitted by the trap, however, the use of one of our attractants can help to increase the catch rate by 10%.

5 Days in it's a Mosquito Massacre!!!!
We live in New Brunswick about 1000 feet into a pretty dense forest, with two ponds on the property, so the mosquitos are insane out here. They say it's all about placement, so I found a spot in the shade just on the edge of the fence, far enough away from the deck to not attract them but close enough to help that area. Day 1 I caught nothing. Day 2 just a couple. Same thing on Day 3. At that point I was a bit unimpressed, but it does say it can take 4 weeks to show an effect, so I kept faith. Then it happened, we had a rainy/humid day with grey skies... Day 4 or 5 I went to check the trap and there must have been 100 in there.
I think the picture speaks for itself - that's only 5 days in.
So it's still early in the process, but I'm already sold... Thank you Mosquito Magnet!!

Amazing!
This year started out to be one of the worst mosquito seasons in cottage country. We would get swarmed when getting out of the vehicle, it was horrible. We turned this on and every 2 weeks we were having to dump the bag. There were thousands of mosquitos. By mid August we turned it off because we were no longer catching any, I think between the bats, dragon flies and the mosquito magnet we wiped them out. This was a God send this year.

Not very happy
So we finally broke down and bought this . The first propane tank was perfect. After that we couldn't get the thing to turn on again.
When it was working we did notice a difference but were just very frustrated with the 350$ machine not working a month later..

1 Day and I am convinced
Terrible year here for mosquitoes, possibly the worst in my lifetime. Yard completely unusable as soon as the sunsets. Researched this product and almost balked at the price but after just one night you can see my results in the attached video. Also if you are still skeptical search mosquito magnet on youtube and you will see many excellent real life reviews with outstanding results.

Won't start back up after 1 season. Can't return.
Definitely not impressed. Worked okay last summer albeit the unit seems to shut off sporadically. Stored indoors over winter in heated garage and kept very clean. Unit won't stay on this spring. Gone thru technical support with supplier to no avail. Mosquito Magnet states it must be shipped to them (in the US) from Canada and can't provide any timeline for repair nor will provide a warrantee replacement. Our summer is short in Alberta and likely this process will take longer than the summer to remedy.

worls well until it doesn't...
We have an older version from when we lived in CA. We brought it back with us. It did work well but last year I had problems as the propane would just not catch. Like you pilot light not working in your furnace. This is when I discovered you could not get replacement parts from the manufacturer ,other then new power cable. ( that is $100 on its own)
If I wanted to get it repaired it had to ship to Manitoba and it worked out it was not worth doing. Keep this in mind when you buy it.

Started catching blackflies right away
We set this up last weekend and noticed immediately that the blackflies were swarming the area and starting to be pulled into the trap. by the end of the weekend, there were hundreds in there. We already noticing a decrease in the number around the yard.
