I purchased the Miracle gro potting mix. Planted my flowers in pots with the soil but have great difficulty with watering. The water doesnt absorb well. It sits on top of the soil and pours over the side. A couple of plants hve even died. Suggestions??
Hi, as the potting soil is very dry in the bag, what works for me, I put the soil in a wheel barrel or bucket and add some water to it, ( not too wet though ) mix and let sit for a few minutes before putting into the pots, and then adding your plants. Hope this helps..

Doesn’t this soil come with a fertilizer already in it?
Thank you for inquiring about MiracleGro Potting Mix. This mix does have fertilizer in it, but it is a small amount, and we recommend beginning a regular feeding program with plant food after 30 days. If you have any questions or would like further assistance, please contact us at http://tinyurl.com/noc5mcg and one of our representatives would be glad to assist you.

Terrible and full of mould
I month two bags last month and I've only used one bag so far. Literally everything I planted using this soil is covered in fungal growth. All my healthy houseplants that I repotted are now growing some fungus in the soil and most sadly, my precious citrus plant has been taken over by fungus after using this terrible quality product to repot a perfectly healthy plant. I'm beyond disappointed and would not recommend this soil to anyone! If it wasn't so heavy (I can't even lift the huge bag myself) and if wasn't for pandemic measures, I would have returned this a long time ago. What a waste of money! I would give zero stars.

Not as good as it used to be
I have bought mix this several years in a row. This year (2019) this potting mix had a LOT of wood chip filler in it and much less actual soil. After a watering or two, it is very evident how much wood is in the soil. While the wood is appreciated for water retention, it is just way too much. My supposition is that wood filler is much less expensive than producing good earth. If it was screened a bit better, this would be great soil again. If I had known about how much wood was in it, I would have bought a much cheaper soil and just have amended it with time release fertilizer and it would have been more cost effective. I'm giving one star because the cost to quality ratio is not evident. I don't mind paying more for a product, but I need to receive my money's worth.

Full of bugs
DO NOT BUY. I bought 2 big 60L bags of miracle gro one at a time. I got many flies. I thought I did something wrong. I tried all sorts of method to get rid of the bugs. I bought a 2nd bag of miracle gro not knowing it was the soil that actually the one causing all these flies. Lots of eggs flies in the soil, killed all my plants. Had to throw away everything plants and soil.

Not as good as before
I also have bought this product before and it was excellent. This time it was loaded with wood chips. I finally figured out that the bag sold here, although it has the same look as what I've bought before, does not have the word 'enriched' on it. I believe this to be the difference in consistency.(I've since looked everywhere for the enriched one this year and as yet have not seen it.) Very disappointing!

With pleasure
I start my garden seedlings very early, so I needed some potting soil. After several online orders from a Canadian hardware supply store, riptide was in stock but, after ordering and waiting 2 to 3 days, they mailed me saying that the items were not available. Very helpful. Being a little wiser, I contacted customer service at Rona, asked nicely if I ordered from them, could he assure me that they would be available. I told him the item # and the quantity, he then put me on hold for a minute, came back and said yes, and told me that he tagged my items, I was very happy.
I was able to pick them up the next morning, everyone I met at Rona was smiling, as I was.

Do not buy - Lots of Eggs in soil Ruined plant
I bought this a week ago. The soil is garbage because it has lots of eggs in it. It ruined my plant. Cant believe that a large manufacturer like this would do like 0 quality control.
