Description

BernzOmatic(TM) micro flame torch and soldering kit. This unit is refillable and creates a needle point flame. It comes with a built-in stand, push-button ignition and continuous run lock button. The kit contains a spark igniting solder tip and hot blower attachment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ripster from Great Dabbing Torch Heats titanium straw nail up in about 15 seconds. I did have issues with it lighting when I filled it with BernzOmatic butane, but I emptied it and filled with filtered butane and it works beautifully. I've been using it between 10-20 times a day, everyday for a couple months now and it still works like its fresh out of the package. I like that it has a lock to protect from unwanted firing and has a constant feature that allows you to keep it on without holding the button down.

The problem it that the ignition wire is placed directly in the flame path so that it burns up after a few minutes of continuous use. I’ve also had the ceramic fire guard in the tip explode, I would guess due to an air bubble in the ceramic. The soldering tip that comes with them is worthless and has trouble even with a low temp solder (300 degrees F.) I’ve gone through over 20 of the smaller torches from bernzomatic as well. I really wish Lowe’s would find a better distributor for their torch products. The smaller ones do have a warranty but I’m getting really tired of swapping them out 5 at a time for the same crappy product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jon from Great tool! I know other reviews have issues with lighting but I've found that the regular fuel readily available locally is cheap not the torches. I buy the "Filter 14 Vector" fuel online. It is highly filtered. It costs more but your lighting issues will go away and it burns constant. I love the control I have with this when working with small pieces.

Rated 2 out of 5 by KellyP from Doesn't Last I have bought several of these to distribute to employees and they work wonderful for a very short time and then they will no longer light. I have bought and had go bad 4 of these in the last two months. This is not a disposable and should last longer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by dnewt from Not worth the money Assembly, fueling and use are straight forward and easy. I used it to solder two wires and shrink two pieces of tubing. After that it will not light. When you go through the light process you can hear butane escaping but it does not light. After numerous attempts I even tried a match light no joy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HoneyDo from Works great ! I needed something to solider a heavy wire to the alternator on my car. The terminal had broken off the wire and I used the Micro Torch to heat the new terminal lug and solider it to the wire after crimping it. It produced enough heat with the pencil flame to do the job. I also used the solidering tip for another solidering jom and it worked faster than my electric solidering iron. I have more electrical connections to solider on my bost's electrical system and with this torch I do not have to drag out an extension cord to use with the electric iron. Easy to use. Good burn time. Compact.

Rated 3 out of 5 by watcher from Dont drop it Do not drop, or knock off of your bench.....simply will not tolorate any impact greater than 0. The top (head) will be knocked out of alignment and unrepairable. Other than that, cant get by without it.
