Rated 1 out of 5 by Eric from Buy a porter cable this leaks Save your money and buy the porter cable it's quieter and more important it doesn't leak. Had to remove motor and top assembly to repair leaking regulator because of lack of sealant. They applied sealant to nipple going into tank but not on regulator side.... Also the check valve was poorly sealed and hardly tightened

Rated 3 out of 5 by J5150 from Good quality - but EXTREMELY LOUD There's no arguing the specs and build of this pancake compressor is the best in the business. Good strong connections between the pump, tank, and regulator. Quality quick connect fittings as well. All that being said - this thing is LOUD... the loudest pancake I've ever heard, and arguably one of the loudest compressors I've ever been around as well. How Metabo came up with their 79db rating is beyond me. In my garage, at 3-feet, I measured 95db! Right next to the motor it's at 103db!!! The frequency of the noise is important to note as well... it's a higher pitch than other "loud" compressors, so even more irritating to the ears. If you're using it outdoors, it's significantly easier to tolerate the noise... but if you will be using it indoors (including the garage), it's completely unbearable without ear protection. For comparison sake - my 15-gallon Dewalt is at 83db three feet away in my garage... and the frequency of the noise is much lower as well (think old Kirby/Hoover vacuum cleaner). I ended up returning it as my use case will be a mixture of indoor & outdoor... and unfortunately the noise makes it an absolute no-go for indoor work. Bummer!

Rated 4 out of 5 by NoName from Great Unit This is a little power house with Metabo quality. I only gave it 4 stars because this beast is loud. If using in a garage you WILL need hearing protection. If using in the back yard I suggest you use it after 9 am and no later than 6 pm so your neighbors can live in peace. You can make a simple sound shield that would really help to keep the neighbors peaceful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by topher0401 from Awesome little compressor [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using this compressor for a few weeks now, mainly on a garage addition. It runs 2 framing nailers with no issues. The description says it will run 2 roofing nailers, but we did have 3 running on it to roof the garage, granted it was only 1 day and 38 squares, but it handled it just fine. Ran 2 siding nailers with no issues at all shooting the LP smartside. Used it to do some trim work on a remodel, small enough and light enough to carry on bigger remodel jobs. Would not be afraid to send this compressor out with my crews. Extremely satisfied with the performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Justin from Great/solid Compressor (loud as hell) Im happy woth the compressor. Functionality is all there. Fills fast, good capacity, and lightweight. My only issue is how loud this compressor is. It screams when its filling. I can hear it from the frrgest room in my house when its in the garage. You liyerally cant talk over it. Other than that great machine!

I agree with BCLLC about this compressor being built in China. I wish it were built in Japan, and it is EXTREMELY LOUD!!! I don't know if others got one that isn't as loud or they just haven't used other compressors or they have bad hearing but that's my ONE biggest complaint. It's tough for sure, the TANK is solid, and the line from the tank to the pump is COPPER! Somebody used their brain and built quality into this air compressor! Others I saw have those metal hose or rubber hose that have the crimped ends, no way that will hold up in the long run. Probably also explains why their reviews say they leak. I tested the decibels and I was three feet away and the decibels were 98.8!!! OUCH!!! THAT'S LOUD AND PAINFUL ON THE EARS!!! I used ear protection before I turned it on because I heeded the warnings about it being loud. It took 2 minutes and 43 seconds to fill from 0 to 200 PSI. The gauges are accurate. When it got to 200 PSI, it stopped. When the pressure drops to 150 PSI, it comes on and builds pressure again, and again it stopped right at 200 PSI. I really like this air compressor except for it's LOUD and I don't like that it's build in China. When I turned it on, it has quite a bit of vibration but it didn't move or bounce around on the floor. I have a Husky 1.5 air compressor that vibrates and moves around on the floor but it's dying and that's why I am looking for a new air compressor and one that has more PSI and output. I hope this review helped. Also, the Metabo requires you to break in the air compressor before using. I hope Metabo addresses the loudness of this compressor but the build quality is excellent! Whether I keep it or take it back, I'm still debating. Going to test a few others first. I also reviewed the Kobalt 4.3 air compressor. It's quiet but the build quality is lacking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hn4648 from Great features [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since my puchase of this 6 gallon air compressor I've had the chance to test a few times. It's important to me that it hold pressure when not in use and i'm pleased to note that it's lost no pressure over a two week period between use. That speaks volumes to me about quality, certainly when compared to my prior air compressor that would lose pressure overnight. Additionally since it's not a full size compressor, it's easy to move; also important to me. I don't use it to paint or for body work but for simple things around my home and garage. It's the perfect size with perfect performance. I highly recommend this tool.
