Description

The cordless option option makes this tool extremely versatile! it’s powerful enough to flush cut windows and doors out of 1/2” sheathing and precise enough to carefully mortise out a door. Love this tool and would highly recommend it to anybody!

Used it with a flush cut but for window openings and sheathing trimming. Has more than enough power, ergonomics are excellent, lightweight, and being cordless is huge. Also used it with a round over bit on temporary stair treads; haven’t charged the battery more than once! The extra 1/4” collet is also a nice bonus!

Love the limited lifetime warranty as well, which other brands don't provide. This plunge router has the power and torque to route the finish I want and I don't think there's anything like it in the market. The other thing I like about this kit is that it comes with all the necessary accessories to get you ready for work, while other brands come separately. It's also easy to maneuver on the work piece and runtime seems decent. My only complaint with the tool is the dust collection as it doesn't collect efficiently and also with the collet was hex rather than square shape, but those are just minor problems. All in all, it offers more for the value. Looking to try the new 36v rear handle saw after this.

It is equipped with so many different features, will work in any application where a router is required, and the motor has plenty of power, cutting through hard woods with ease. This also comes with a speed adjustment switch for versatility throughout different jobs. I was pleased to see that it came with an adapter to fit 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch bits, making it much more versatile. The tool itself was very well thought out, making it easy to adjust speed and other controls during usage of tool. The handle is shaped well as previously seen in other Metabo HPT tools, ending in an easy to grip and work with tool. We were also happy to see an easy depth adjustment feature to change the depth of the router, this makes for an easy quick adjustment. Overall, another great tool that we are happy to have in our collection of Metabo HPT.

This router is easy to operate and has good ergonomics. Since the router accepts 1/2" and 1/4" bits, it gives you options depending on which bits you have. Has a nice soft start and is easy to control. Would highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dogsong Derek from Powerful, smooth, efficient Honestly this thing surprised me. I run a full time woodworking shop and do a considerable amount of router work. Everything from dado's, edge profiles, mortises, pattern reproduction, etc. So far I've done edge profiling with a half inch roundover, all in one pass. This router will also run a 1-1/2" mortising bit with quarter inch passes without flinching. With the way this router is set up, I don't think it would be practical to use in a router table though. Honestly, I only have one complaint about it, and that would be the depth stop turret. The quality of the turret is fine, however, in a woodworking shop, I really need more than 3 depth settings. Especially when doing mortises. A good woodworking router will have at least 6. However, I have other routers for duties such as that. What I will mainly be using this router for will be edge profiling and pattern reproduction, where the power and light weight will really set it apart from other routers. The motor is very efficient as well, being brushless, its about as efficient on battery life as something like a 2hp plunge router can be. You could easily edge profile dozens of table tops with the 2.5ah battery, set it on the charger while you rearrange your shop, and then by the time youre set up again, the battery is ready to go with a fresh charge. I could easily see this at home in a production shop where efficiency and reproducibility are key. Another place this router would be absolutely at home would be a carpentry site for home building. This router really fills a void in the market for a full size plunge router, cutting away OSB sheathing from window openings with a piercing pattern bit. The motor brake is absolutely fantastic for speeding up production where you need to take multiple passes. Make your first pass, and the motor has already stopped the bit before you set the router down. This way you can immediately rotate your depth stop turret and get back to work. The provided fence is excellent and precise. The ergonomics are very well thought out as well, although admittedly im not sure if I like or dont like the plunge lock lever. I do wish it was spring loaded. Overall this router is a winner in my book. Lightweight, but powerful for when you have a ton of work to do and dont want to kill your arms doing it. Well done Metabo HPT!

I love having a full size router without a cord. Plenty of power for profile edges or mortices. I really like not having to move a cord, or drape a cord over my shoulder if the cord gets in the way. Very glad I purchased this.

Lots of power, very comfortable and smooth as butter. I only wish that this had an option to come with the AC adapter as it isn't a tool that is your first purchase into a line necessarily.

This 36v router does everything I need to replace my corded version but it’s nice to have the option to run it cordless or corded with the power adapter. It has plenty of power for dadoing out lumber or for routing edges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bmc0787 from nice router! When I first unboxed this router, I was nicely surprised by the quality of the fit and finish as well as the compact size. It has all the necessary accessories along with a very sturdy carrying bag that should last a good while. The router itself is fairly lightwieght but nicely balanced so with normal use it won't tip over. The battery easily attaches/detaches and having the 36V is great with the extra power that I'm used to with corded routers. This is the first cordless router I've come across that have both the 1/2" and 1/4" collets. The plunge feature action is very smooth and setting the depth handle is a one finger operation. The grips are nicely textured to reduce hands slipping. Its no louder than the corded version but the bit stops spinning sooner. Another nice feature is having the both lights illuminate on the base when the trigger is activated, so I can see what I'm doing and having them stay for 10 seconds afterwards is a big plus. So far, I'm very happy with this router and suspect it'll be used alot in my shop.
