Can I pour this twice to raise 2"? Obviously using the proper primer in between pours.
No, use regular cement mix to bring within 1/4 to 1/2 inch then top with this. Much more stable.

Can you install hardwood flooring using staples to secure wood?
It is not recommended but I was successful in using under hardwood over a uneven plywood subfloor. The subfloor needs to be primed first, otherwise the moisture will be sucked out of the levelling mix, and it will not flow. I used a 10’ metal stud as a screed, and pulled it across the room to ensure smoothness as without screening, the leveller may leave slight ridges.
The leveller dries as cement, quite hard and brittle. If the leveller is greater than 1/4”, the hardwood staples have difficulty penetrating. I had some which deflected and curved and required careful extraction. Also some flooring boards were damaged as a result.
I used roofing tar paper over the levelling compound and under the hardwood. In the end I was able to successfully install 500 sq feet of acacia wood flooring. Installed for 3 years now without squeaks.

1) Is there a "curing" time when the surface has been completed? 2) Can this product be painted? Thank you.
Per the vendor: Drying time before installation of non-moisture-sensitive floor coverings at 70°F (21°C) at 1" (2.5 cm) thickness: 1 day. Drying time before installation of moisture-sensitive floor coverings at 70°F (21°C) at 1" (2.5 cm) thickness: 2-3 days. Curing time for max strength: 28 days. Limitations: Do not use as a final wear surface. Novoplan 2 Plus must be covered with a finished floor system or floor covering.

Can this be used to level old tile floor before engineered wood floor application? ( we just do not want to deal with old tile removal in our living space) Will it adhere to old tiles? thanks for your replies
it can be used for that purpose, only if the flooring you plan to install is not a nail down product. There are many other products that are less expensive and will achieve the same results.

Good day, How much cement does one bag make... by volume? I need to figure out how many 50 lb bags I'll need to make 1.25 cubic feet. (It's for a big circle in an old furnace room, 4' in diameter and not quite an inch deep.) Tks
The manufacturers website has a data sheet for coverage: http://www.mapei.com/public/CA/products/3000071-ultraplan1plus-en.pdf

How many bags will be needed to cover 450 square feet x 3/8 thick?
Each bag mixes to about 1/2 cu. ft. I did a similar area of varying thinkness (leveling builder basement slab) and it took about 40 bags. Your specific math works out to about 28 bags, buy 32+ for good measure. Start where you want the highest slope to be if mixing by hand. No way to mix that many bags (without a 6-man team or renting a mixer) before the first pours start to set, so you will end up with a "more" level floor but don't count on a perfect level.

can this product be applied on a painted basement floor?
My floor had a lacquer finish but the kids had also used it as a canvas over the years and painted many masterpieces on it with craft paint. We didnt have any issues using the leveller on top of it, in fact we told the grandkids to go to town painting what floor was left before we did level it all out. Just sad to see all those years of art work memories go.

Can this be used over old linoleum flooring?
Yes as long as the deflection is good on the floor. Make sure you use the primer

Mapei Novaplan 2 Self-Leveling Compound
Bought this product to level a commercial bathroom floor (about 10' x 11') which had been damaged while removing the old 1950's tile that was in there. The directions say use 5 - 5.25 quarts of water per 50 lb bag. Use the most water you can for a more liquid consistancy. Also, chill the water first (I used a cooler with a water dispenser and added ice to the water) so the set up time is lengthened. This is my first time using any leveling compound and I was quite pleased with the result. Was not a completely glass-like smoothness, but was WAY better then what was there before I started. Now my new 16' x 16' tiles have a smooth, stable base to adhere to.

Works great
This was my first time using self leveling concrete (or any concrete for that matter). The instructions are simple and agree with the many youtube videos I watched on self leveling concrete. Basically you put water in your container and then use a mixer connected to a drill (you cannot do this by hand) to stir the water as you steadily add the concrete. Mix it up well and then pour.
You have 10-15 mins to play with the concrete before it starts to set. I used a floor squeegee to push it into the corners and then leave it to find it's own level.
Dried smooth and level.
Would recommend.

DOES IT IF YOU WON'T from
MIX ACCORDING TO INSTRUCTIONS, MEASURE CAREFULLY
BE SURE TO PUT YOUR WATER IN THE BUCKET FIRST. ADD THE MIXTURE SLOWLY WHILE MIXING WITH A POWER MIXER, DON'T RELY ON BATTERY POWERED DRILLS, THEY WILL NOT LAST LONG ENOUGH FOR A 3 MINUTE MIX, POUR THE MIXTURE AND USE A GROUT TROWEL TO MOVE IT AROUND, I SUGGEST CHECKING A SMALL PART FIRST TO SEE IF IT'S LIQUID ENOUGH, REMEMBER, LIQUID IS GOOD, RUNNY IS BEST, WATERY IS GREAT. TOO THICK AND IT WILL NOT SELF LEVEL, FOUND THIS OUT THE HARD WAY.

Great product
Follow instructions on bag works perfectly. Just remember to fan out on edges to meet your other floor or so or you'll have a bump. I purchased both in store and then ordered at Lowe's On-line so it was all ready for me to pick up at store saving time. Watch for Lowe's specials... Save the tax etc... even if store closed you can still order on line and get the deals until mid ight. I gave 3 rating on price... I don't see why it is so expensive but I got o $10 off sale and it was save the tax deal so not bad price in end but rating based on regular price.

Nice product
Not too runny or thick. Make sure you have a variable speed corded drill, and at least 2 people. Large volume, use large paint pails, drywall pails are not large enough. We used a float on handle to spread large areasy you might find grade rake. I had two separate sectons because we could not empty the whole basement, time will tell how the overlap works out. Note this cannot be feathered any thinner than 1/8 inch, there is a MAPEI product at commercial concrete vendors that will go down to 1/16 of an inch, but Lowe's does not carry it. If you are doing one room with walls at once should be no problem. Gives a smooth flat surface, if your floor is sloped, say towards a drain, this will not level it.

Great product
Not cheap, but an excellent way to level a floor. The first time I laid tile I promised myself I would use a self leveller the next time I do that job. It's amazing how much easier the job becomes with a level floor. Highly recommended. Get the mapei primer to seal the substrate. Add water exactly as per instructions and mix thoroughly with a grout mixer on a drill. I did 65 sq ft with 5 bags. I ended up with 1/4" to 1" of cured leveler on the floor I was working on. Best to get when Lowe's has a no tax event.

Expensive but good product
The only reason I wold not give 5 is the price
I used 6 bags in one place and will need more later and this and the primer in the end relatively expensive
I used 6L of water instead of 5L and it leveled itself very well

Easier than I thought
I was honestly afraid of this job, first time using self leveller. Installed a heated floor in my gazebo and needed to cover it with leveller before putting down vinyl planks. 150 sq. feet, 14 bags. Followed the mixing instructions with 5L of water exactly. Poured 1/2 inch thick, one pail every 10 minutes. Literally didn’t have to trowel or rake anything, just flowed perfectly. Heavy bags though, and heavier pails when mixed, very physical work when using multiple bags. Love it! Dried perfectly flat and level!
