Good sander with hard to find accessories
I agree with MrAppllication78.
I am currently working on an old damaged wood floor. The sander did a pretty good job until the carbon and cork pads ripped. I have to find new ones before continuing, the sander is pretty unstable without them. Since Rona does not carry them, I had to order from a competitor which has the worst shipping service I have ever encountered. As a result, my project has been interrupted for over a week and the pads have not been shipped yet.
Same problem with the dust adaptor. The weird shape (rectangular) means we are pretty much stuck with the Makita component (P-80019) which is near impossible to find.
This is all very frustrating. How about Rona sells the accessories and components that go with the tools they sell?

Good but not great
Used this model to strip a deck. It worked okay however, a design feature/flaw on this and no others is the cork and graphite pad located between the belt and metal plate. It's a great design except under heavy use this pad rips easily. And nobody carries them in stock. Always accompanied by ONLINE ONLY. 5ge performance advances gained by this feature falls far short of the pain in the but one will experience trying to service this model. Makita should do better.
FUN FACT : This feature that continues to fail is a new "Development". Prior to this design the cork was held by adhesive (instead of tiny screws) to bottom plate and that was then covered by a metal plate that was screwed through metal hoes (new design uses small holes in pad that is guaranteed to fail under high heat.
