The shelves are only a few inches deep - basically, you will be able to store normal-sized bottles of shampoo and/or body wash on them. What surface preparation is required
The installation advises the following on surface preparation: "Wall surface must be dry, solid, clean and smooth. Scrape off any loose paint, paper and plaster. Tile walls should be free of oil, wax, and soap residue. Scuff sanding with coarse sandpaper will help the panel adhesive to bond firmly. It is recommended that raw plaster or wall board be primed or water sealed prior to installation." Do the panels have to be held against the wall with pressure for the glue to set? If so, for how long?
No sort of bracing or lengthy application of pressure to the panels should be necessary for installation of these walls, but we do strongly encourage you to pay close attention to the instructions provided with whichever adhesive you use for installation to ensure best results. Can these be installed over existing ceramic tiles?
Yes, you can install over existing ceramic tiles. In the preparation section of the installation manual, we advise that the wall kit can be installed over drywall, plaster, painted walls, plywood, or ceramic tile.
