Is this recommended for install in a seasonal unheated cabin?

Asked by: dmm005
We do not recommend installation of any of our products into an environment that will be exposed to extreme cold (or hot) temperatures. Installing this or any MAAX product into a non-winterized cabin would void the warranty and could damage the product, which could result in water damage to the home. I am looking at the MAAX Bosca Alcove Acrylic Bathtub with Left Drain - 60-in x 32-in - White tab and wanted to confirm if this will be compatible with it (i.e. colour, size, fit).

Asked by: sewilson01
Yes - these products are compatible. The MAAX Finesse wall kits glue up to moisture-resistant backer board so you can use them in place of tile. MAAX Finesse 61-in x 34-in x 59-in Acrylic Tub Wall Kit is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I guess it’s ok We just finished putting this up yesterday. It looks nice enough but a few things we are disappointed with are: the corner pieces about 3/8” shorter than the wall pieces, the edges are rough (I know you end up sealing with silicone but we were expecting a cleaner cut) and where the corner pieces overlaps the side wall and back wall pieces it doesn’t rest flush...the installation directions don’t show putting adhesive under the overlapping part which I feel would help with this. We went back at it this morning and pulled those edges out enough to slide a popsicles stick with some adhesive under at a couple spots where it was a noticeable gap and tapped it down with painters tape until it dries. Also pulled out the top corners of the end walls and put a dab of adhesive under and tapped it down. Overall, it is nice enough looking and this is the first surround we have done so have nothing to compare it to, none the less we are still a bit disappointed in the quality of the cuts and how the corner pieces fit.
