will not recoil
Bought this tape because it seemed to be well made. After a couple months of very light use, it will no longer recoil. Used it yesterday to measure 14' and had to manually push the entire length back into the case. Once it gets to about 2" mark it will recoil and makes the old broken spring sound. It does this every time. Wish I had just gone with the cheap o tape, at least then if it broke I'm only out a few bucks. Don't buy this if you need a dependable taper measure.

Lower quality than I expected.
I really wanted to like this one. I love the high vise and the feel of the case. However, the overall quality is somewhat lacking. Maybe it's just mine but when I'm measuring without hooking to anything the tape twists several time after more than a few feet are out. As for retracting, it would be better to have put a reel on the side as I have to feed it back in most of the way. I would not recommend this as it appears to be luck if you get a good one.
