Rated 5 out of 5 by HornPowered from Black Blade, Green Markings Tape Measure [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Saying the Lufkin Shockforce Nite Eye 25-foot Tape Measure is heavy duty is an understatement. This tape measure is built tough with a black blade which is almost 1 inch and 1/8 wide. The greater width of the blade than a regular tape measure allows it to extend over 10 feet unsupported. The neon green markings on the black blade really jump out and are easy to read. It has the feel of a tool that could be dropped many times and still not be damaged. Even though it is a heavy-duty tool, it fits comfortably in my hand and does not seem overly heavy. It has a built-in belt clip which comes in handy on the jobsite.

The black tape with bright numbers adds a cool effect, with functionality of being able to see it easier. Tape has open end hooks to grab nails, etc., which is a nice feature. The numbers and markings on the bottom of the tape are a great and useful feature set. One update that could be helpful would be putting the base measurement (width of the base) on both sides, currently only on one side. Being on both sides would be helpful to not have to move around in odd directions to remember how big the base is.

It feels solid and rubberized to sustain falls and provide comfort. It mostly dark colored. Has some bright orange that can help stand out. The blade is really nice. It has an extended hook for those longer distances when measuring without help hold tight and doesn’t slip off. The clip is a little tight so may take some effort to slip on a belt. It’s a little hefty in weight compared to some but that’s the difference in the quality of the blade and construction. The grip engages and disengages easily yet holds the blade securely.

It's a very well made, good quality version of the Lufkin Tape Measure I've used for years and years. The blade is coated, and is over an inch wide. Both sides of the tape have printed measurements. The advertisement claims a reach of 17 feet, but I could not get more than 15 feet in practice. That is still a great feature. The belt clip is very secure and strong. It should last a long time. The printed numbers on the blade are easy to read. The hook is very secure, and is quad riveted. I have no reservations in recommending this item, as it is of very high quality.

But Crescent checked all the boxes on this one.The tape is doublesided,the foot markings are vibrant and vivid.It says on package that it will reach out 16 ft before bending,tried that got about 12 ft,not bad.Its 100 ft drop tested,not going to test that option.Very smooth opening and closing.Worried alittle about lamination on tape,time will tell.Another nice feature is the hook,it has a rough finish not smooth like other tapes,will hold better when trying to measure .And end hook is also double sided.All in all nice tape.

Pour mettre à la ceinture sans ce support, c'est si serré que cela prend deux mains! La garniture de caoutchouc du ruban se brise alors par friction excessive et en moins d'une semaine il semble vieux de 2 ans! La lecture est bonne sauf à chaque pied puisqu'on passe de pouce à pied et on change le code de couleur; ça peut être un peu mêlant. Galon assez lourd et son mécanisme de blocage, quand ouvert, n'est pas facile à actionner avec le pouce. Bonne rigidité et précision.

It has a very rugged rubber case for easy handling and makes it easy to grip so that you won't drop it. The contrast of the numbers and markings on the dark background make it very easy to read. The belt clip rotates easily but tight enough so that it will not slip off your belt. Having the readings on the back of the tape is nothing I have not ever seen before. It will be a joy for me to use this tape when I am working on my home and wood projects.

The foot markings are marked differently as are the 16" increments for on center stud marking. The end blade is a good size and grabs very well. The over build of the casing is sturdy but not too bulky. I don't have any complaints about this measuring tape.
