Description
The ThinLED is a high performance, easy to install down light. No recessed fixture required. At half of an inch thin, it will fit almost anywhere you need a LED general light source. Airtight, and rated for direct contact with insulation, this downlight is an excellent choice for soffits, drop ceilings, or any general-purpose lighting applications. Dim-to-warm technology is now available in LED lighting fixtures delivering 3000 K colour light at full power yet smoothly reduce the colour to the 2000 K range at the lowest dimming light levels. This technology was designed to mimic the incandescent and halogen lamps that dim to a warmer colour temperature using the same low-cost triac dimmers. With its thin design, it is the perfect choice light source when you have joists or duct work in the way.

Great dimming, but limited lifespan
I really like the colour temp shift, and the transition is very linear. Bad news: The LED strips inside eventually fail - they flicker then just die. We have ~25 of these on our main floor, and have replaced ~6 of them as of now (about 3.5 years after installation). Good news: The distributor honours the lifetime replacement. They do want you to ship the bad unit(s) back so they can verify that it is indeed bad. Thus, I keep a couple of spares to rotate-in so we're not left with an open hold in the ceiling.
