Great welder
I was in the market for a small welder. I have quite a bit of welding experience, and have a large mig with gas in my shop. I wanted one for home. Looked at another (tractor) store, almost bought the cheap one yesterday. So glad I waited and found this unit at Lowe's. Lincoln, how can you go Wrong? This thing will impress you. Comes with it all, and spare parts and flux and solid wire. Has the gas option, which sold me. I didn't want to buy gas yet, so I gave the flux a chance. I welded a thick new exhaust system together for my truck the day I got it. I probably won't even bother with argon now. This thing is a great machine. Spend the extra $100, thankfully I did...you won't regret it. The only thing I recommend you get is a good mask, the one that it comes with is hand held. Buy it!

Welder
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time welder, very easy to use, nice for welding rebar together for wife’s projects. Its so easy to use my wife is now welding with it. The welding shield that comes with it is junk, so you would want to invest in a auto darkening welding mask. Besides that it’s a handy little booger that is easy to transport to a friends house because I’ll be darned to let them barrow something like this little majestic machine. Might grow legs or never find its way home. It’s also nice being able to hook up gas to run mig on it.

Good product
this welder worked fine after getting the gas flow problem corrected. The argon would not flow to the gun and after talking to the factory found that the brass fitting entering the case had a solid piece of material lodged in the entrance to the fitting. The tank valve was cracked before attaching the regulator to blow out any dirt, so the material had to be in the fitting before I hooked the hose to it.. After removing the fitting, it took alot of pressure to dislodge the material. The welding sheild has too dark of glass in it to see the material properly. I had to use a sheild from my other welder to see properly. The only other issue is that the length of the power supply cord is way too short. The welder makes nice strong welds now that the bugs are worked out., and I would recommend this welder.

This little welder is GREAT
I bought a HF 90 amp welder about a year ago and used it a few time with so-so results. I was looking for a better welder with gas but couldn't find anything in my price range....until I saw this little welder at the local Lowe's store. I checked all the online reviews I could find and made the plunge and bought it. HD had it at a lower price but Lowe's matched it WITH an additional 10% discount!! It sat in the garage for about 3 months due to weather but I was able to get it out today and.....WOW. This welder is so easy to use, anyone should be able to lay a bead in no time. My son and I are restoring an MGB and a Mustang, and this little welder will be perfect for welding floorboards and panels. It has several heat ranges for welding thinner metals which is what we need. It has a TWECO head and will accept specialty nozzles and fittings. If you are looking for a small hobby welder for auto repairs or just around the house work, this is the one to get.

Great!
I bought this welder as a Christmas gift for my 18yo son as he's always buzzing around the yard building little projects. What used to have to be drilled and bolted together, know can easily be welded. He loves this welder as its easy to use. If you've never welded before but have wanted to try or think you would have a use but are afraid to invest in an expensive unit this would be a great choice to start with. This is one of those situations where "You get what you pay for" does not apply this is a great unit for a reasonable price.

Great little welder!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great welder for what I do. The only thing is when you load the wire make sure it has tension and isn’t overlapping or it won’t feed right.

First time welder
I bought this as my first welder and I was surprised how easy it was to setup and start using it. I recommend it for beginners, it does a good job on lightweight welding around the house. Plan on buying a real welding helmet, gloves and a jacket, well worth it.

Good fit for home hobbyist.
I have welded with commercial machines, stick, mig, etc.
This welder replaces a cheaper unit from a cut-rate store, that needed modification before it would allow decent welds.
I am impressed with this small welder. I will do for most anything a hobbyist will ask of it. My test beads right out of the box with the flux sample, once cleaned looked like I'd used gas. I don't have a bottle of argon/CO2 yet, so haven't tried that with this welder. Test beads were on 24ga and 1/8" steel, and came out perfect.
There is only one thing I would change on this, and would have been willing to pay a little extra for, as an option: An adjustable gas regulator with gauge and flow meter. I will be purchasing one for it soon.
All in all, for the money paid, this welder exceeds my expectations.
