So far this unit has been great. The interior room is excellent and we have had zero problems with it. It has an ice maker in the freezer (not in the door), which provides more storage space inside. We were also skeptical about the compressor issues but we are also comfortable that they have been resolved on the newer units (time will tell!). The exterior finish looks great (no fingerprints) and is easy to keep clean. It runs very quietly. We also matched this up with Whirlpool appliances (DW, range and MW). So far so good.

I like that the ice maker takes up very little space and you can remove the ice box if you need more freezer space. Had this for several years with no issues then moved and liked it so much we bought it again for the new house.

Rated 4 out of 5 by David T from Great frig except for left door. We had a similar frig from LG. No extras except for an ice maker, turned that one off as well as this one. That frig lasted 10 years, then the compressor died. We decided to buy a new one rather than fix the old one. We had to wait 21/2 months for this one and had to buy it relying on only pictures and specs. When we finally received it, 9/2/18, it was basically what we expected. A big frig with no gee gaws. It did have the ice maker but its design allows more freezer storage than the previous frig and we also turned it off. The new freezer handle is a big improvement over the older version, it's much easier to access the freezer. Our only complaint (and the reason for 4 stars rather than 5) are the way the frig doors operate. The left frig door has a very heavy feel and if you're not careful will slam shut nearly spilling the door shelf contents. The right door has a nice feel to it and a detent (plastic cam) to prevent it from slamming shut. And it requires only a nudge to shut it completely. When your hands are full the left door is nearly impossible to prevent slamming shut. If it had the same action as the right door we would give this frig 5 stars. This frig is quieter than the older one. You can here noises, fans, compressor, and a quieter version of the clicks and bangs the old one had. Much nicer. Lots of storage room and everything including the doors seems to keep every thing at the temperature that its set at. The default settings are 0 for freezer and 37 for frig. Frig doors appear to be at 40 degees. Haven't found anyplace in the frig that freezes food, as sometimes happened in the older one. The tray at the bottom has three settings and the one for vegetables seems to keep fruit and veggies as well as the crisper drawers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Spatch from A great fridge for specific needs I was looking for something specific: 1. Big — we’re a family of seven, with four more extended family in the basement suite. We need a lot of food storage. This fits the bill nicely at a whopping 29 cu.ft. of space. I still marvel at the incredible amount of space every time I open the thing. The door shelves are massive! 2. No water, no ice — this was to be a supplemental fridge for the garage so we didn’t need either ice or water dispensers. Our objective was to maximize storage space. Granted this model has an ice maker but it takes up no storage room (housed in the ceiling of the freezer compartment) so can be ignored if not needed without sacrificing precious space. There’s little out there in the market that fits these specific needs so this fridge really comes through for this household. I would have liked more robust support through the Thinq app given the price point, but it’s a minor issue. All in all very happy with this fridge.
