Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Acacia sewing machine end tables After a TV stand and coffee table with two other sizes of Acacia from the same supplier, I purchased the "bench" piece to be used as table tops. For economy, I joined two pieces together to achieve the required width and create a live edge on two sides. The dimensions are so close that with careful clamping, the two pieces are indistinguishable. The cut edge after sanding and oiling looks good. The beauty of all the Acacia items offered are pre-finished. With care that can be preserved. I hate finishing wood. In the end, we have a total of four pieces of furniture that are unique and in our eyes, beautiful

Overall we were very pleased with it, and it was a very practical solution for what we needed. It did have one very light "blonde" strip along the live edge which was the only place that had it and seemed a bit out of place, but we ended up cutting off the live edge and putting that at the back. Also, the product sticker did not peel off cleanly at all and left a thin white residue that took a fair bit of very gentle scrubbing to remove so as not to scratch the wood or affect the finish.

But a hard wood to work with, you constantly need to have your woodworking tools sharpened. The wood has lots of hollow galleries, so extra work needed to fill all the cracks. Adds nice character to the finished product.
