Do these lights shine up and down?
Yes, they do have a bulb spot for top and bottom.
I am actually an electrican, and I will tell you why I prefer this light.
1 - up and down bulb, which means you can use both or only one. Who knows, you might only want lights down right? Wel you have both options.
2 - Most integrated LED fixtuers are not tested over time. I have had to change so man LED fixtures due to failures. At leat 25% failure. So if you bought 4 of these fixtures with a built in LED in 5 years I would be one fails or starts to fails. At that point you have to change the hole fixture. Good luck finding the same fixture, and have fun paying an electrician to do a job thats already been done before. Every fixture with a bulb/socket is a better option.
3 - You can install an LED dimming bulb, or LED color changing bulb. Lets say its christmas and you want the down light red, and the uplight green! Not all LED fixtuers are dimmable. As long as you make sure the bulbs, and dimmer are LED rated you are good to go.

Looks great and modern
Love these outdoor wall lights. They were easy to install, although I had help from someone to prop it up so that it doesn't scratch against the wall while I attached the wires together (highly recommend asking for help). They look very modern, industrial with clean lines. I'm not a fan of the lights with the ring light around them so these worked perfectly. They're a really good size and stand out with curb appeal.

Cheap coat
The black colour exterior of the lamp fades within 1 year. I bought two of these for my house. In 2 years, the colour of these lights has gone from black to grey. Started to look old. Unacceptable.
