This unit came with an extra promotional battery, which was a good value and helped steer my decision. Purchasing this new was more cost-effective than buying new batteries (2) for an old worn drill. The drill comes with a nice case, however, if you attach the belt clip, there is no clearance for the case to shut (small matter but a bit irritating). The drill comes with a solid detachable side grip bar to prevent torquing when drilling with hole saws or drilling with larger bits on metal. Other than that, it's a cordless drill.

Battery is very easy to slide onto base and comes off easily to put on charger. The LED light is nice and bright and is very helpful to have in a tight or dark area you might be working in. The handle for higher impact work helps stabalize drill. Comes with a belt clip, may or may not use it, depends. Nice carrying case to store it in, transport, etc. Gets the job done quickly. This will replace out current cordless drill which does not even compare to this one in power! Would highly recommend this product!

I have been using cordless tools for years. I ended up switching from Makita to Dewalt about 3 or 4 years ago because of the quality and accessibility of Dewalt. So I have quite a bit of experience with cordless tools. I used the Kobalt drill for a couple days on a recent deck I built. I was very impressed with the power and quality of the drill. I had a Camo brand fastener tool attachment I used to screw down the deck boards and it did very well. The battery lasted quite a while before recharge. The tool feels very well built and durable. The one negative I could think of was the handle did get very hot when I left it in the sun for too long. Someone should find a way to make a cooler handle..... million dollar idea! All in all, an pretty nice drill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Justin from Kobalt hammer drill I recently bought the kobalt brushless drill/driver and impact standard not xtr and all I can say is wow! I have been in electrical for 16 years and have used everything from Dewalt to Milwaukee. This hammer drill and impact is better than both in my opinion. The price is affordable and the quality is superb. Can drill through brick in no time flat. I Would really love to try the XTR next. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kevin from Good All Around So far it's worked well and the battery life and power have been a huge upgrade. The light is helpful too, with a great location to actually be useful most of the time. The battery held up to a lot of drilling and driving for a large new gate and fence repair project and still had plenty of life for more. The weight seems balanced well, the grip is good for your hands after several hours, and the size isn't overly large to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jason from Surprising amount of power from a battery I'm replacing an old 20v cordless drill and the difference is more noticeable than I expected. I never used to pay attention to the torque and rpms and other attributes of a cordless drill, but I've been added tools to my Kobalt collection of 40v yard tools and 24v workshop tools since I like the battery life and the power is surprising. This drill is making a lot of difference in my projects. I used to have to switch out to my heavy corded hammer-drill when the old cordless wasn't cutting it. That huge drill was overkill that could actually cause damage on smaller projects, but this 24v drill is powerful enough that I can ditch the cord and I only need that other drill for going into masonry. This drill feels better in my hand too, and the keyless chuck has an all-metal collar that's a lot easier to loosen.

Rated 2 out of 5 by TimS from Returning product now a hassle I purchased this drill about a year ago. The trigger now is not working properly. I am just a weekend warrior and do not use the drill that much. Before when I had failures in Kobalt equipment, I just went to Lowe’s and they replaced it. Not now. If the tool was purchased over 30 days, you must contact manufacturer and start the process. Not going to work for me. I guess I wall be moving to more dependable brand if Lowe’s is not going to support.

Battery life indicator. Fairly compact. 2 speed. Heavy/solid feel to the unit. I am very impressed with it's features and capabilities.
