This Kobalt 40 volt Max multi-head string trimmer kit makes yard work a breeze. This string trimmer/s 15-inch cutting swath and dual side bump head makes it easy to advance the line for continuous use. Its variable-speed trigger allows you to set the power to suit the task for maximum control. It's part of the 40 V Max multi-head family of products and includes a 4.0 Ah battery and charger and is compatible with all Kobalt 40 volt Max tools and is backed by a 5-year limited warranty on the tool and a 3-year limited warranty on the battery and charger. Rated 5 out of 5 by Tnglc from Exceeded my expectations I was skeptical on this purchase, thinking it would not be quite powerful enough to run other aftermarket attachments, but I am happy with the results. I have troybilt attachments from my 4-cycle and have tested the edger, pole saw(with extension), and hedge trimmer. All work fine. The only issue with them is the pole saw. If it gets in the slightest bind, be ready to have to yank it out. This was not an issue with gas powered, but I'm happy to deal with this as opposed to the issues with gas power and fuel delivery while using the saw. I also have the tiller, but it remains untested. The battery life is also good enough for my half acre with several trees and around 1000 feet of fencing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed from Reload function is impossible After my fifth reload, with each reload being harder and harder, it is now impossible to remove the part that holds the trimmer string. Total waste of money. They design it so you have to hold down two tabs that are about eight inches apart from one another, while pulling, to remove the cap you need to take off to replace the trimmer string. I have pretty big hands, but it was still nigh impossible even from the first reload to take this string off. Forgot to mention: After about three years of use, the bump feed cap shattered as well. Terribly made. Don’t buy this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by elguaposweater from Reliable. Easy to use. Makes edging a breeze. Super easy to use. Reliable. Works with aftermarket bump heads. I upgraded the bump head to one that has higher capacity string. The small head means I can squeeze into smaller spaces. Since the handle is compatible with other tools, I wish they would make tools like an edger available for purchase. Maybe they will do that in the future...?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheryl from Assembly I didn’t even get to try this product b/c assembling it was so difficult and the instructions were useless. They really need to dumb it down even more so those of us who aren’t used to this equipment can understand. I exchanged it for a Black & Decker which was a breeze to assemble compared to Kobalt Blue. The Kobalt Blue electric mower is AMAZING, though. I highly recommend that over the other brands.The edger just wasn’t good and not all of the preinstalled screws were included. It was just more of a hassle for me to be worth it.
