Great tool and powerful
just bought this tool today and used it for the first time to drill into cinderblock to hang up a hanger for my huge windchime, the hammer feature worked great and was quick, Im glad that the tool can be used as a drill as well, no mre switching to another cordless drill and then back.I can see myself using this tool for a long time and often. i also like the led light that allows you to see in the dark along with the adjustable speeds and torque advailable.
I already own other kobalt power tools that have worked very well and plan on changing my old power tools to kobalt as they are comfortable to use and handle..

Using in a production facility.
I work in a mobile home production facility and have been using this drill non stopped for over 2 weeks. I drill holes in the ceiling through 2x4s sometimes stacked on top of each other when I'm close to rafters and it drills through with ease. I like the way you can change modes between using the torque setting, hammer drill, and regular drill setting. That is useful when wiring up panelboxes. I also got 2 4ah batteries to use with it and normally leave work with the second battery half charged. The drill never gets hot through all the torment and to my supries it has held up really well, it has also out performed many of the Dewalts that we have there. I would deffinetley recommend getting one of these.

Quality product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3 different settings for drilling, screwing and hammer drilling so it can be used for any project. I got it for the hammer because I needed to drill a hole in concrete and it did a great job. The battery charges up very quickly and will last a long time, which I really enjoy because I get tired of always having to stop what I am doing and recharge a battery. Has multiple settings to adjust the torque. It also has a variable speed trigger switch, belt clip, 2 setting gear box, and too bit holder. You can't beat the quality of a Kobalt product and I will always select one of their tools over any other product no matter what the price.

Great Cordless Drill
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always been a little bit leery of cordless drills due to the fact that the ones I have used ran down quickly and had less torque than my corded drills. That is not the case with this drill. It has plenty of torque and the battery is long lasting for sure! I used it to drill some holes in some stumps so I could put stump killer it it and also to set my bird feeder poles in the stump. No problem drilling the holes at all. This is an oak stump that requires some power to drill into. This will be my go to drill so I don't have to drag out the extension cord as often. The easy to attach handle is great as well!

Hammerdrill Ineffective
I really wanted to like this drill as I have several other Kobalt tools using the same battery that I like, and wanted a cordless hammerdrill using the same batteries. I bought this specifically for the hammerdrill function because I needed to drill three 2" deep holes in concrete. It wasn't able to come close to drilling even part of one hole in the concrete. I used fully charged batteries and tried several different masonry bits that were all brand new. The hammering mode wasn't much different than the drill mode and may not have been working right. I took it back and bought a corded hammerdrill that made quick work of the holes. Based on the glowing reviews I may have had a defective Kobalt hammerdrill, but they had no more in stock to try so I went with a corded one.

Great features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 1/2" hammer drill is reversible and has a 24 position settings available. The drill with battery and handle installed weighs 5 lbs 10 oz and 3.2 lbs without battery and handle. A selector on top of the drill shows 3 setting modes, drill, driver and hammer drill modes. When turned on a LED light stays on for about 10 seconds. The variable speed is as follows, LOW 0-550 rpms, High 0-2000 rpms. The chuck is a ratcheting keyless chuck. 5 year warranty, It has two accessories, a belt clip forf a battery and a double ended bit. I found it to have a comfortable grip and easy functioning control adjustments for low and high speeds, forward or reverse. The LED light is great for low light jobs.

Nice drill, but not a hammer drill
I recieved this hammer drill for christmas to see if it has more torque than my 18 volt Bosch. The drill is lighter but does not have more torque than my 18 volt Bosch. I tried this hammer drill on concrete and could not go more than 3/8" deep. Then I rented a Makita hammer drill and it would do a 1/2" dia x 2.5" deep hole in concrete in less than two seconds. That's what I call a hammer drill. This drill is perfect for any home duties but would not get it for drilling concrete. It did not come with a hard case. I picked up a nice makita case to store it. That's why I gave it a 3.

strong and powerful tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband loves this hammer drill for several reasons. He is using a 24 volt battery, which was not included, to power this tool for maximum performance. The drill has two speeds which adds to the versatility of the tool. He has used the tool to attach address numbers to our exterior brick on our home easily. Other features are the LED work light and the adjustable torque clutch which operates from 2-24 with the higher settings for higher force needed on projects. The auxiliary handle attaches and removes easily. The unit also comes with a belt clip, a bit holder and a user manual. Since we have other power tools that use the 24 V max extended run lithium ion batteries, this tool was added to our collection. Great product.
