Can I control the power and distance thrown with the throttle? I can control the throttle for the 40v trimmer so I was wondering if it is the same set up.
no you cannot, it literally throws the snow across the street into the driveway of the person across from you, you only have 1 angle, it would have been nice if you could have some control of the angle, unless you tilt the trimmer up to almost straight, i rigged up some plexi glass to lower the angle and it works better. no control over the throttle, 1 speed, full.

Last time I had one of these which was a long time ago every time I used it the snow blew back into my face. Does the same thing occur with this machine?

GOOD FOR SNOW REMOVAL
now ive read some of the reviews, some say too heavy, or not good enough, ok so its 15 lbs , your not lifting it your pushing it through the snow, and 15lbs isnt that much. It really throws the snow, possibly a little too much, it would be nice if it had a deflector on it for height and angle, i just angled the battery end up higher so it didnt go on the side walk across the street. it throws it that far, it does say 20 feet.I like everything about this electric shovel except no real control of where the snow goes, comes straight out and far. maybe kobalt will get an accessory to control the angle and height of the snow coming out.

Very Heavy
Quick assembly and 1st thing I notice is its super friggin heavy. I am thinking ok, awesome lots of power behind it. I quickly learned I made a mistake with this purchase. Perhaps with a nice even driveway, and not an older one with cracks it may have worked better, but no. LIKE just no. The bottom of the shovel is jagged and caught on pretty much every lil crack on my driveway. Did I mention its heavy? Like without the battery 16 lbs or so, the battery is friggin huge!!! and probably weighs 5 lbs or so. (at least it feels like it) Now imagine trying to push through a foot of snow with a 20+ lb shovel. Guess I am returning it. Now I should also mention that the snow I did manage to push through it pushed through it well considering it was nearly a foot deep.

It’s alright
Blows straight as expected, but it’s really good for snow that isn’t too much nor too deep so treat it like you would a ‘trimmer’ (while other snow blowers would be used more like a ‘mower’)

Not worth the price
I recently bought this. Tried to use it today. It cannot deal with wet snow. At all. Ended up shoveling. As a senior it was a complete waste of money

Powerful shovel
Recently was hit with a huge snow storm and this little powerful shovel was able to do the work. I like that its small enough to drag along to clear porches, paths and walkways. You can direct the snow to land specific areas in the direction you push. It's powerful and snow will obviously go everywhere if you push against the wind and make a big mess but use common sense. It does take strength to lift but I like a bit of exercise. It's not a wheeled heavy duty snowblower so don't expect that. You can push it with less lifting if you plan your shoveling correctly. I had to shovel multiple times and charge twice as I was shoveling almost 3ft of snow due to the storm. But knowing this was a rare storm looking forward to see how it handles with regular snowfall and how long it will last.

Good if you use it properly
It's Jan 19th, two days after the GTA got a massive dumping of snow, at my house we were dealing with 12 inches plus of snow. I got this because I heard it shoots snow and that's what I wanted it to do, I used this for my back patio and full length of the house, I wouldn't recommend it for precision. But if you have the space to fling it far, it works. As for clogging up and stopping it from working if the snow is too heavy, I haven't had that issue, I basically held it off the ground and skimmed the top layer and then did the rest. It is heavy! Feel the machine, adjust for best results. So this technique is not for every one. But it works. If you use it properly and aren't expecting it to be a full size blower. You get what you get. My only issue is that it should come with an adjustable cover to limit the height of how high it throws the snow, which makes it difficult to use in smaller areas
