Description

This KitchenAid cooktop provides lots of versatility combined with an elegant design. The 17,000-BTU multi-flame burner allows for both high and low-temperature cooking, so you can go from a boil to a simmer without changing burners. On the other hand, the 5000-BTU Even-Heat simmer burner has a heat diffusion plate for better control of the flame at lower temperatures. The pilotless electronic ignition system and automatic reignition feature ensure the burner is relit if the flame goes out mid-cooking. In addition, full-width cast iron grates enhance the cooktop's look and allow you to easily move the cookware around the cooking surface.

A bit of a hassle with the gas lines and the "hold down" screws, but otherwise quite straightforward. It comes with all the necessary installation stuff except the gas supply line and shut off valve. Turned it on and it all seemed to work ok. No bugs at this point. It came well packaged and Lowes gave us awesome service and a good price too! A bit of an issue with the hold down brackets and screws. They do not give much guidance in the instructions and I was concerned as the supplied screws go quite deep into the appliance (but all ok at this point). These cooktops are stupid expensive for what they are, but I will say that this product seems well made and I like that it says "Made in the USA". It does seem like good quality.

Only negative comment I have is that even though we replaced our old Kitchenaid 30" gas cook top with this new 30" gas cook top the cut out requirement for the new one is over an inch bigger than the old one. Consequently we had to call a counter top specialist to come and enlarge the Quartz counter top cut out - which was a pain and an unnecessary cost and headache. Don't the Kitchenaid designers ever go out to the field and see how these things are installed and whether it would be advantageous to provide some standardization in their line of products? Will Kitchenaid reimburse me for this extra cost?

Scratches so easily. Grates with “wanna be” pads scratch cooktop while cleaning. Cooktop stains easily also. Center large burner used twice and has already stained top. Literally burned off finish. Would not recommend unit. Dont waste your money. Kitchenaid quality control should have caught these issues. Surprised civil lawsuits have not been filed on Kitchenaid for shoddy expensive products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this about a month ago and are very pleased with the of this stove top. KitchenAid was the brand of stove top that was in the house when we bought it. We like their products and we’re able to find a new model to replace our aging 2003 model plus it is 5 burners rather than 4, big plus!!! Another factor I was considering is that I wanted one that would fit in the existing cutout in the granite countertops for the 2003 model for the new 2019 model and this was one of two existing models that would do that as I was assured but the KitchenAid tech support people. Excellent so far, bring on the holiday cooking!!!

I was worried that 5 burners would not fit my pans well on a 30 inch cooktop, but so far that has not been an issue. I love the fast boil and simmer capabilities. The cooktop looks great! The only thing I would like to change is the way the grates fit together. They lock together almost like a puzzle and it makes it a little harder to clean. Overall, a great product. We were limited on choices due to the cutout size in our granite as we were replacing an older unit. I am glad that we found this one.

Boiling a pan of water takes absolutely forever! I love the simmer feature, but I use my cooktop to cook, and the design just appears to be a major flaw when I have to wait a ridiculous amount of time for the heat to do it's thing.

The middle burner truly simmers which makes my large pots of meat sauce or soups very happy! Again, I am still in the honeymoon stage, but I'm 74, so I have cooked for many years. I'm really enjoying this cooktop
