Not a good replacement for wood stove doors.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very disappointed with this gasket. My pellet stove takes a 5/8" round gasket, which means that there is another gasket on the inside of the gasket to keep it round. I found out that this is a 5/8" flat gasket after tearing apart the package, which is useless for any sort of wood stove doors. It might be okay for replacing the glass gaskets of a wood stove, but definitely not a door gaskets. The package it comes in doesn't tell you anything about weather it is flat or a round gasket, which is deceptive in my book. I can't recommend this gasket and am disappointed in my purchase.

Glue does not hold
I have tried using this gasket twice now on my smoker and both times the glue has not held the gasket in place. This is not due to oil or grease or something else on the door. I have cleaned the door both times before applying the glue. The first time I used denatured alcohol to clean it with, the second time I used acetone so I know the door was clean. The fiberglass gasket is good it's just the glue that is worthless. I am going to try attaching the gasket with another product. too see how that works out. The glue seams to soak up in the gasket and give out. This very well may work if there was a channel for the gasket to fit in, I don't know.

Good Product and Great Price
First time to use Imperial gasket and cement, but very satisfied. Important to completely clean gasket area after removing old gasket. Apply thin coat of cement and I used Q-Tip to spread even coat over gasket channel and area. Let cement set for a few minutes until slightly tacky(approx)10 min. Apply gasket to fireplace doors and close doors. Leave shut for at least a couple of hours so cement and gasket has time to set and you will have no problems. Did not give 5 stars because would like to have been able to purchase the gray gasketing at my lowes.

It's a gasket
This is the gasket I get every other year as a replacement for my pellet stove. It's a gasket and it does the job. One piece of advice - I don't ever actually use the glue. I just stick the gasket in the channel and close the door, I don't think it's possible for the gasket to come out. By not using the glue it makes replacement MUCH easier, no scraping involved. The next time I go to replace it I just pull the old one off.

Excellent Stove Gasket Replacement
This is equal to or greater than the original stove gasket. The cement provide is actually better than the material used by the factory. The glue set up quickly and the gasket material is original manufacturers quality. The total replacement was accomplished in about 10 minutes. The cost was reasonable.

Lasts only a year if you get it to stick
I've purchased these a few times for my wood stove just had to buy another today. All but one has stuck for a while. One the glue never tackified and I had to return it. I've never had one last more than a year and a half when it did stick. Glue seems to be of poor quality and gives out before the gasket wears out, usually during an inconvenient and cold time of the season. Lowes is the closest place to me that carries gaskets so I'm stuck with this every year. I wish they'd try another brand.

Best value I found for my Breckwell P1000 stove
After troubleshooting my stove down to the door gasket being the problem, I researched various local dealers and retail stores for replacement gasket material. Lowes gasket was not only the exact match (there were others also) but came in at nearly $21 lower than the nearest competitor.
It took me a total of 15-20 minutes to remove the old gasket, clean the bonding surface, install the new gasket and have my stove running again.

Didn't like sealer
Might have been my fault! Sealer is like water, might watch a couple videos first. Be sure to dry test as in you tube videos and try to reinstall same way. If you stretch to much it makes rope smaller causing leaks, not enough door won't shut! Removed the first try and bought another with black sealer. Be sure to pick up a wire wheel for your drill it will make things go a lot faster removing old sealer!
