Does ANYBODY know what is the best way to test this product, given the fact that once it dries up, it will be placed in the required location for potential alerts (which will not affect the fact that it has been wet tested).
I successfully tested with a glass of water, and it worked like a charm - got yhe beep, email, and alert on the Android App. After testing, I DID NOT NEED TO RESET THE DEVICE. MY ANDROID APP. CONTINUED COMMUNICATING WITH THE DEVICE.

States in one section Works with Alexa ... another section states Work with Alexa: No Which statement is correct???
I tested it out again and YES the detector worked with Amazon Alexa. In the Alexa App, chose "discover devices", select "other devices". It will say "no devices found". Click on "Help with smart home" and it will list all compatible Apps. Select "Honeywell Home" and follow instructions. Hope this works for you.

Can the cable be used to wrap around copper water pipe, so it alerts if the pipe leaks? Need to use in my basement where water pipes run. The main unit could be sitting on a 2 by 4 wood with the cable attached!
yes you could wrap the cable around a pipe. You'd need to secure it with some tape at the end but it would certainly work. Just note if you have any condensation on the pipe it'll set off the alarm. These sensors are pretty sensitive, doesn't take much moisture.

If the unit works on AA battery, what is the 60 inch cable for ? Thinking of buying, so need to know this.
The Cable is the sensor that is connected to the box unit, so the cable going to be placed on the floor when it senses or gets water in, then the machine will activated. You can use it without cable as well.

Can this device be assigned a name (dishwasher, washing machine, hot water tank, etc.) so if you are using multiple units you can identify which one is in alarm?
Yes you can name it what ever you want. Gives you the ability to install multiple devices in multiple locations

Simple and Easy to Configure
I bought this about a month ago. It is extremely simple and easy to connect to WiFi and configure the alarm settings (it took about 5 minutes). We tested the cold temperature and leak detector alarms and they immediately sent email/APP notifications and follow up emails / APP notifications when the alarms were resolved. The unit updates information to the APP 1, 2 , 3 times per day but it will alarm immediately for leaks and, based on your settings, for high and low temperature and humidity. If you are looking for a device that provides leak and freeze detection with customizable notifications , this is the device for you.

Helping out my neighbour
I bought this for my neighbour because this little device helps me watch their house for them while they are away. They had a back up once on their floor drain which they fixed; but still a potential concern. It’s cold enough to freeze pipes here; so good to keep an eye on temperature too!
They are set up on the device as the owners and they have added me as another person via email to contact if temperature or humidity dips (water leak). We tested it out by wetting the sensor wire and it worked great! I don’t have to check their house as often in winter now.
Less worries :-)

Small, loud and easy to set up.
Bought this to remotely monitor my laundry room (where our washer and hot water tank are.) Setup was pretty simple. There are a series of colour-coded LED signals and beeps that let you know you're doing it right, and the Honeywell app is pretty good at guiding you through the setup. It is LOUD - a good thing for an alarm I guess - but it surprised me when there were some loud beeps during the setup process as I was pretty close to the unit. I wall-mounted it quite easily, and the monitoring cord was long enough to run down one side of my water heater. Only thing I'll warn is that the unit only wanted to connect to my 2.4Ghz WiFi - so if you have a newer router on 5Ghz (or have disabled your 2.4Ghz network) you'll want to keep that in mind.

I bought it a week ago, it works great, had some trouble setting it up, called honeywell, they were alot of help. It connects to my wifi, so when I am away or at work, I get an email or an alarm goes off in my phone when the basement gets wet

Peace of mind
The device was easy to add to the app but once installed I experienced some issues with it false alarming with no water present. Customer service was able to reset the device remotely and it seems to be working great since. It gives me peace of mind that a water leak won't go unnoticed.
