Description
The 12-ft x 8-ft Soho shed by Heartland has aStorage Shed heavy-duty wood construction that will not warp like plastic sheds, nor rust like metal. If features 64-in wide doors that provide easy access for larger items such as lawn tractors. Ready to paint and pre-cut. Floor, paint and shingles are sold separately.

Is there a way to get a copy of the instructions so I can plan ahead before purchasing? would like to know how big of a foot print we need to make, how much shingles I would need to purchase.

The Product Overview says that bonus features include complete floor system and four transom windows? But ... under Specifications, it shows that the floor is not included ( there is an x) and it also says that 5 windows are included?

Apologizes, I was wrong. The kit does not include the 2 x 4 floor joist. You will need to purchase (13) 2x4x8 treated, (2) 2x4x12 and (3) 4x8 OSB or Treated plywood for decking.

Does the photo show the actual colour...or is it already painted? Do you have to put on shingles? What is the roof made of?
Unit comes primed not painted. Shingles sold separately. Roofing is 1/2" osb board.

Great shed/cabin

100% Assembly
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this shed assembly kit expecting some assembly. It is 100% assembly needed. You will be splicing boards to make the length you needed, building headers, etc. My husband has built shess from scratch before and they were way better quality. We could have bought a book and supplies and had a better build in the long run. No pics because it's going to take a few days.

Was lead to believe the windows and doors would be hurricane rated since our particular model had to be specifically to Florida code. I thought that made it a good price. But now that I find they are not hurricane rated, and that the doors are steal (which will rust here in FL), I am not as happy with the price. I was surprise that one person put this whole thing together. He seemed competent and was certainly friendly. But having only one person on the job creates a lot of risk.. not having the extra hands to assemble correctly, being alone if he got hurt, etc.

Great shed but with a few issues.
As a finished product, this is a really nice shed which I bought on sale. Although it states that the size is 8'X12', this is not the case. it is actually 90"X12'. I had built a base of 8'X12' prior to receiving the skid and now back of base sticks out by 6". They should indicate this on the website. Without a doubt, read the instructions slowly and clearly as you assemble everything. In fact, measure all the pieces for accuracy. We ended up with four studs that were cut too short and had to go and buy replacements to keep going. Another issue is where the 4'X8' panels meet, there is no additional trim to hide the nails. Would have nicely finished the look of the shed. It takes two people to assemble and one with experience in framing.
