Best board on the market
This a solid product that holds up to moisture very well and provides an excellent base for tile. It doesn't have itchy fibres like Denshield.
Get the proper screws for installation and a carbide tipped board cutter for scoring it. As a contractor with a reputation to keep, it's the only product I use.

Easier to work than expected, but wrong thickness.
I just bought this hardie cement board for wall tile backer expecting it to be difficult to work with. While it is heavier than drywall, it was easier to scribe and break to size than I thought it would be.
It is, however, the wrong thickness. It is listed as 1/2" on the Lowes website, but is actually only 0.42". This is a problem if butting up to 1/2" board as there is a large discrepancy in thickness.

Not easy to score and snap
At the end of the day, this is a great product. However, I found it impossible to simply 'score and snap'. Too thick for that. I ended up putting on a mask and cutting this outside with a diamond wheel on my angle grinder.
