Useful tool for large projects
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first time I have used a spray foam gun. It is a huge time saver. The cans contain more product than a standard tube of caulk. I used 2.5 cans on my project and would likely have need 2 cases of caulk tubes to accomplish the same task.
This gun is easy to use and saves your arms from the tough workout of using a caulk gun all day. My only complaint is that it is difficult to clean the very tip of the guns nozzle. The foam tends to harden around the tip requiring the use of a scrapper to get it all off. Overall I recommend this gun. It was worth the money.

Falls Apart During Use
When it works, it's good. Certainly it's better than the plastic straw dispenser. But my gun failed. When replacing a can of Great Stuff, the gray fitting on top came undone from the gun. The result: Great Stuff spewed everywhere, from the gun, from the can, covering my tools, stopping work for the day. Why did it come undone? And why is there no way to separate the black plastic top of the can from the gray fitting of the gun in the event of this happening? Clearly the gray fitting has a place for a wrench. But the black top of the can has tiny tabs which are too small to grab with pliers. I am frustrated with the poor design of this product. The application of spray insulation is troublesome enough, but to have a gun that comes undone during use is 100% unacceptable.

reusable foam gun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good gun if you take care of it. A couple of tips:
1) Protect the tip, don't ding it. Cover it with short tubing or the plastic straws to prevent damage.
2) Keep acetone or cleaner handy and wipe the tip after every use so there is no foam on the tip.
3) Get some clear vinyl tubing 3/8 OD, 1/4 ID because otherwise, it is almost impossible to fit this with the can upright into small spaces.
4) If you use this upside down (can facing down) it will work for about 3 seconds and then start spraying gas only. This will make the can last a lot shorter and you will cause it to dribble and make it difficult to use. If you need to use the can facing down use clear vinyl tubing.
Good product, but could use some refinement and better instructions on the package.

Works well when used as directed.
First off: The Lowes title is not correct. This is not used with "blown-in Insulation", this is a foam dispensing gun that is designed to be used with the Dow Great Stuff Pro one-part expanding foam that comes in the big 24 ounce cans. FYI - The smaller single use cans, that come with the cheesy straw, will not work with this foam gun.
My experience: I have the same can of foam attached to the gun for over 8 months and it still operates as well now as when the can was first attached. The trick is to leave the can attached to the gun when not in use. If the can is removed, the can will not work the next time and you will end up throwing it away. Also, to clean the gun you need to use the Dow Great Stuff Pro gun cleaner in the 12 ounce can. The gun has to be cleaned immediately when the can is removed or the foam will cure in the gun making the gun unusable. It takes about half of the 12 ounce can to thoroughly clean the gun.
I was tired of using the disposable, messy, one-use cans that come with the straw. This gun allows for precise placement of the foam and the bead size can be set to match the size of the gap to be filled.
Another tip: some small amount of foam will cure on the end of the nozzle if left on. Clean the tip of the nozzle after each use. I have successfully removed the cured foam from the tip using a utility knife. It cuts easily.

Working good so far
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used this a few separate times since I have bought it and so far no problems. Using this gun is so much better than the can and straw because you can control how much foam you want out at one time.
I bought this because I had a few smaller foaming projects to do in my garage now, but I will be using alot of foam in the next 6 months when I air seal and insulate my attic.
For larger projects, it’s more cost effective to buy the gun and cans of foam. Easier to work with too.

Good for tight spaces
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Attaching the Great Stuff pro cans was easy and quick. This gun allows you to place the correct size bead in both easy to reach and harder to reach places. The use of Great Stuff Pro cans and gun are basically for larger jobs as the cleanup for smaller jobs is not time efficient. For these smaller jobs I would recommend the regular Great Stuff cans. That being said, I would recommend this tool mainly because of the control it provides. The cleanup, as I said was a little messy, but for a larger job it is well worth it. The gun cleans up very well with the Great Stuff Gun Cleaner. If the gun is cleaned properly I have no doubt that it will last for years. It also allows you to leave the unused portion of the can attached (for no longer than 30 days without cleaning) or you can remove the partially used can for future use, or to change product type for other jobs.

So much better than the red plastic spray tube
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This spray foam gun makes filling gaps so easy. It gets right into the spot you are spraying. No more red spray tube to fall out. The trigger is easily modulated to spray just the amount needed.
When finished, just unscrew the foam and screw on the can of cleaner. Spray until all foam is out of gun.
Any unused foam can be reattached later and not be wasted like the old style red tube spray.

works great
So far I have only used this gun a couple of times and it works great. Read other reviews and decided to purchase one for myself. Glad I did. Stops as soon as you release the trigger and the control you have vs the can with the fancy straw is worth the price and frustration.
