Nest Protect looks for fast-burning fires, smoldering fires, and carbon monoxide. It tells you where the danger is and alerts your phone in case you/re not home. It gives you a quick green glow when you turn off the lights so you know everything is working. And it keeps you safe for up to 10 years.*

- The Nest Protect smoke and CO alarm speaks up in a friendly voice to give you an early warning when there/s smoke or carbon monoxide in your home
- The Split-Spectrum Sensor uses two wavelengths of light to look for both fast-burning and smoldering fires. Plus, the CO detector looks out for carbon monoxide and tells you where it/s located

Love these!!
Switched out all the smoke detectors in our house to Nest. We bought the hardwired ones and added a few battery operated ones as well. So happy with them!! East to install. The self testing features provide confidence and it’s great being able to check the current status on the app. Also gives us peace of mind knowing that if something happened while we’re at work and our dog is in the house we get notified and can react immediately. There is also a night light feature that you can select to have off or on in low, med, or high which is quite handy. The green light flashes on for a few seconds after you turn off the lights, letting you know it’s working and I love that too!

Very easy to install and it has a hard wiring kit avalible in the package. It is definitly louder than your typical alarm .

So Far, So Good!
So yeah, set up and installation was easy. It hasn't actually been alerting us of an actual fire (thank goodness), but the testing worked well. The "light' they say illuminates the room when you walk in is underwhelming (as in not really), but yeah, you won't be tripping over anything in the room, because you can at least see what is around (kinda).
