Not a Home Max...
But, I really love this new rendition of intelligent audio from Google/Nest. Officially since decommissioning the Home Max, Google suggests "pairing two together for an immersive sound experience"; however, IMO these speakers are not quite as powerful as my Home Max. I also miss the capability to to have the Aux-In for external audio sources. With that said, these speakers are more than capable of holding their own, amongst your current audio setup! I have mine paired together with other Nest speakers and they add a richness and immersion that indulges my audiophilia (©)_(©)Get them, pair them, group them and then "Hey Google, turn it up!"Cheers, Abe

Nest Audio
I love the Nest speakers and the concept (I have 3 now, one mini and 2 Nest Audio) -- but they need to work on their compatibility, which Alexa (I have as well) does much better. It is often complicated to get Youtube (audio portion of video) to play on the speakers. I also added a friend to my home. They have Apple, yet we have challenges in Nest does not recognize their voice (despite several attempts, resets, etc.). Seeing and using configured groups is intermittent. Great product, but Google needs to focus on what the customer wants, give it to them and ignore the fact they are allowing their competitors some access.

Great for a main room
I bought two of these so I could pair them up and have pseudo-surround sound music play in my living room; the sound quality is quite nice for the price and they integrate perfectly with the rest of my Google smarthome products. I also love how they look! The design fits subtly into my decor. If I had a bigger place, I'd probably pick up a few more. The one flaw I have noticed is that these seem to be a little quieter than Google's other speakers; volume 50 on my Nest sounds quieter than volume 50 on my Mini. I think this may have something to do with the increased bass/better sound balancing, and they do still get nice and loud when turned up, but it's worth noting.

Sound amazing - not a great neighbour
Setup is easy, mic works better than lesser Google Homes/Nests. It looks amazing, it's heavy and feels like a luxury item. The sound is rich, loud... and a bit too much for appartment living : the bass is always present and quite overbearing. Controlling the bass with the in-app slider helps, but even at the lowest setting it's a bit too boomy for my taste so listening to it after 11 at night makes me feel like I'm annoying the neighbours. It seems to slightly vibrate the nearby walls even at minimum bass setting - it's probably just that the physical design is too good. Great purchase overall, I'm thinking of getting a second one - and looking into strategically placed acoustic panels to tame it!

Sounds good, but doesn't listen well
We have two nest audio speakers and they sound great together. We've placed them in the kitchen to be able to listen to music, podcasts, TED talks and so on. For the most part the assistant is pretty great, but definitely has a hard time understanding what we are asking at times. We've been stuck in a translate mode because we asked Google to say a few words. We needed to ask multiple different ways for it to stop speaking in German, which is annoying if you don't know what exactly to ask google for it to stop. The stero sound is also often questionable, as I know a few songs that were recorded for the left and right ear and this doesn't translate sometimes with the speakers. Overall, sound quality is good. Definitely glad we got them during a sale.

Needs software improvements
Sound quality is good, but there is no seperate volume control for the alert tones or assistant voice. This leads to extremely loud tones if you have media volume turned up, way louder than it should be. Also seems to have issues maintaining Bluetooth connections, will go into a cycle of connecting and disconnecting; also playing a very loud connection/disconnection tone. Has to be unplugged at least once a day to get it to work correctly. Would like to see these issues improve before purchasing another speaker to use in another room

Nest Audio
Purchased 2 Nest Audio Speakers in Charcoal to replace my wired in speakers in the house. Our family of 5 can have individual accounts where the speakers sync with their iPhone device, the speakers can "learn" each family members voice and with voice recognition adapts to the users commands. The speakers can operate individually or together. We have one on the main floor and one in the basement. These speakers have excellent sound, are good looking for your interior space and can be used by everyone, no need to be a tech expert.

Good speaker, but I wouldn't recommend more than 1
The speaker is good, but there's still a lot of bugs if you try to have multiple devices in your Google home. I have 3 speakers (the other 2 are nest minis), Chromecast and some other smart devices and I always have issues with them. If you keep it to one device and don't worry about syncing them and using them with Google routines and the advanced features, it's a good speaker with a good AI. I don't know how good competitors are relative to this model, but so far I think it's a good product.
