Somewhat Disappointed
I bought 440 square feet of this oak hardwood flooring to complete an area ~400 square feet, and an allowance of 10% for wastage. Several pieces had warping that took great effort to straighten during installation. Some of the source trees may have been infested with small beetles that had burrowed through the wood leaving small holes in the surface. There were also several pieces that had knots with large voids on the underside, creating a future risk that the leg of a piece of furniture could cause the knot to collapse. Lastly, some surface holes had been filled in the factory with a wood filler that didn't look natural.
Normally I would expect the 10% wastage to be used for off-cuts, end-cuts and errors, but in this case, it was primarily used to replace pieces that slipped through the supplier's quality control inspection.
