what size exhaust pipe should be used

The unit is designed to exhaust into a 3 1/4” x 10” rectangular duct either out of the back or top of the microwave. You can use a rectangular to round transition adapter and use 5” or 6” round ductwork as well. The installation instructions give very specific information on exhaust duct installation.

Can this model be used ductless/recirculating? Couldn’t find answer in specs or manuals.

This model can be set for recirculating or for venting to outside. Mine shipped with the fan in position for recirculating and I had to alter it to attach to my vent to the roof.

All of my appliances are Frigidaire Gallery so I knew what brand I wanted. I was excited to see this microwave since it has a sleek modern look (eliminating the handle is a stroke of genius!!!). I've only had the unit for about three weeks but so far I have no complaints. Installation was a breeze with easy to follow instructions. The wall templates were accurate which allows virtually anyone to install this microwave. While I was at it, I purchased an induction cooktop as well...lol

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Choose this microwave over others for the clean modern look and also having LED lights for the stove top. This is so much brighter than our old microwave. The cooking with "sensor" is good, but not perfect, food still has to be watched when letting the sensor estimate the time, but this is the same as our old microwave. Three features I wish it had are a metal rack if you want to heat two plates of food, the ability to dim the display of the clock (you can shut it off). A night light mode for the LED stove light, so you can turn it on automatically and have it at about 10% normal brightness.

The feature I have used the most so far is the reheating button, which has a sensor that allows my food to be warmed just right. I think this microwave is easy to operate. It replaced another Frigidaire microwave I had only because the door hinge broke and the face plate fell off making it hard for me to read the controls. That microwave worked just fine except for the door. This new microwave has a very sleek-looking door and the controls are easier to read and use. Frigidaire obviously has learned and improved the design which I appreciate. I love it so far!

It functions just fine and is overall attractive with one big exception. Frigidaire has chosen to use a harsh, cold silver/gray light for under the microwave (and the clock/timer display as well). This harsh light is great for interrogations or for a strip mall loading dock, but it mystifies me why a manufacturer would choose it for a home. Judging from online comments, others are looking for an alternative light with a "warmer" hue, without success.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Greig1nine from Very poor mounting plate quality It was impossible to mount this oven according to directions. The mounting plate is manufactured with inferior soft steel. Just a bump bends and deforms the mounting plate tabs so that they can't enter the mounting slots on the back of the oven. It took many tries to finally mount the oven to the mounting plate. The previous frigidaire microwave oven came with a superior rigid steel mounting plate which made it very easy to mount the oven. I tried to use the previous mounting plate but, the tabs were bigger and not in the same position. The oven itself works just fine, however, I would not recommend this unit for the average home "do it your selfer".

Only time will tell whether or not this should be rated a 5 star or 1 start. For the time being, it seem to be an excellent product. The sheer size of the door seems overwhelming, but it is an optical illusion due to not having control panels and a handle on the right side like most of these appliances have. The LEDs work great, the style is aesthetically pleasing, and it works without any problems. I'm hoping that I'll be able to still say the same 5 years from now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anne from Completely shot after three days.... Love how this fridge looks - very sleek. Got it installed on 8/18. Its 3pm on 8/21 and nothing works. The web router plugged into the same outlet is working. No fuses blown in kitchen. I was sitting in the kitchen talking with my husband admiring our new appliances that we just bought from Lowe’s and it occurred to us that the lights on the microwave we’re not on. The clock it stopped the microwave no longer works… After talking to Frigidaire and being on hold for about 30 minutes we got a notification that they’re only open 10 to 6 Monday through Friday… Called Lowe’s and got the same answer in terms of customer service… What a disappointment. We’ve saved for years to buy new appliances and one out of three is a complete dud 3 daya in.

I was a little worried about keeping the black door clean as my husband tends to leave his handprints around the kitchen, but it cleans up so easily! We are enjoying our new Frigidaire appliances and are just looking forward to delivery of our back ordered side by side refrigerator. I can’t wait to see how it well it handles hubby and his handprints. My prediction, based on what I’ve seen so far, is that it will do very well.
