Bought to mount a 4x4 to plywood, it works well in spite of the wood being quite warped

Hesitated to use these vs putting the post through the deck boards and connect to the joist. Ran a test using #9 x 3-1/8 GRK screws. With 60lbs of force the connection between the plate and the 4x4 fails and bent the plate. I was going to use GRK 5-3/4 rugged screws but once I saw the bent plate I realized it wouldn't matter. Might double up the plate and run another test!!

Good IF Installed correctly with SCREWS -NOT Nails. There is a review with one star because the person used nails instead of screws to attach to bottom of post(Are You Kidding Me) !!!

Excellent product!
This product works great! Make sure you have good blocking underneath, and I recommend using structural screws to make your connections. Along with Pylex's post base, your deck railing will be super solid.
