SCALESWEEPER ultimate plumbing and appliance protection is the #1 electronic salt-free environmentally friendly water softener alternative that eliminates hard water problems and dissolves pre-existing scale in your home. The electric impulses generated by the computerized microprocessor stop Calcium and Magnesium molecules from bonding to everything throughout your plumbing ecosystem 24/7. SCALESWEEPER stops scale buildup and scale corrosion inside all the pipes and valves in your home. When scale accumulates, it clogs and corrodes pipes, fixtures, and the critical components of your appliances. No more scale on sinks, faucets, toilet bowls, bathtubs, showerheads, glass and tile. In your dishwasher glasses, plates and cutlery sparkle. The washing machine, dishwasher, tank and tankless water heaters, water dispensers, humidifiers all work much more efficiently and require no repairs due to scale degradation on the components. SCALESWEEPER works on galvanized, copper or PEX (plastic) piping. DIY installation at the water entry, wires are wrapped on the outside of pipe no plumber required. Holmes Approved Product. Would you only need one for a house. Do you need to change any filter. Thank you,
The correct answer is based on how many feet of pipe there is….from my understanding one unit per 50ft

(1) Is Scale Sweeper effective if there is also iron in the hard water? (2) Would adding a filtration system - along with Scale Sweeper - be a good idea?

Works as promised good product
My water was 8 gpg hardness and high iron at 4ppm. I installed a whole house iron filter, but didn’t want to install a softener both for environmental concerns and for the cost of maintenance. Found scalesweeper online and decided to try it. Two years later our appliances and fixtures are practically scale free and any small scale that does form, and its barely noticeable, is super easy to clean. Very important that you follow the instructions carefully and make sure your water quality matches its requirements. Do this and it will work as promised

Skeptical until I tried it
Purchased about 3 weeks ago, First 24 hours it's hard to notice anything, but now that it's been a few weeks you can notice the changes in the water. The most obvious change is that we have a black stone sink and the white spots were inevitable, few days after installing this we never saw spots again in the sink. Nothing on the glass shower doors either, it definetly worked for our house. Installation was less than 10 minutes taking the time to wind the coils perfectly.

Seems to work!
While very skeptical of this or any other electronic ‘water softeners’, this product performed above my expectations. The effect was immediately noticeable with softer hands and skin and somewhat ‘slippery’ water. I didn’t tell my family when I installed it, and all thought I must’ve gotten new hand soap for the bathroom. I didn’t know how I could test if it was working or not, but this softening effect was very noticeable. Whether it will help clean scale from pipes and fixtures remains to be seen since it’s only been 2 weeks since the very simple installation.

Where has this been all my adult life!?
I live in Indianapolis, and we have hard water here. I think we're somewhere in the 16-17 gpg range. I own an 80 year old home with most of the original plumbing. As my house gets older and older, the buildup in my pipes and the extremely short lifespan of my water heaters had me considering adding a salt or filter based water softener. I didn't like the idea of relying on salt and carrying multiple 50 pound bags down in the basement. The price on the filter based systems was a big factor. I found this after doing a search for alternative softening methods. It sounded like Hokus Pokus to me, but Holmes' endorsement carries some weight. I did some research and found the science to be sound, so I decided to give it a try.
Installation was stupid simple- took me 15 minutes. In the first day, I thought I could feel the difference, but I keep my mind open, because I could have just been wanting to feel the difference. 3 days in, and the difference is real and not a figment of my imagination!
I can't recommend this enough, and wish I'd had it in my house the last 24 years!!

fonctionne vraiment!

Absolutely does work
I purchase this a couple of weeks ago from Rona. Easy to install and worked immediately. The dryness on my skin was quickly noticed. I also noticed how much less soap is required for dish washing and bathing. I live in NE Calgary, the water is hard, around 11 GPG. If you live in Calgary, this should definitely work.
Save your skin, save your hair, and install one.
Now I will install a whole house filter.

Easy Install, Results Continue
Bought the unit a little over a month ago. Install was 10 minutes with all instructions and materials required provided. I was skeptical, but read some of the scientific reports behind the unit and what is essentially using a coil to charge the ions in the water and it makes sense. Have noticed water feels softer after a few weeks and film on glass in showers is less. We had a water softener that quit after 6 years due to water hardness and this is a replacement that seems like it will be much less maintenance while delivering the same results. Only annoying part is the lights on the unit that are continuously cycling, a steady state light would be better. Can't beat the price at $140 vs. a new water softener at around $2000+ depending on your conditions.

It really works
We have hard water with iron and there were red rings in our sinks and toilet within days of scrubbing them with a pumice stone. This went on for years. Recently I heard about the scale sweeper and I was skeptical. But for the price it was worth a try. It’s been 6 weeks and while it hasn’t stopped all of the scale I would say it is 90% effective. I have been able to clean toilet using regular brush. It’s very easy to install. Just wind the wires around the pipes and plug it in. Miracle of science. I highly recommend it.
