Do not buy. Waste of money
i bought this last week, installed it onto my garden hose. Leaks all over from join area. Nothing to do with aluminum sides which were tightened to the max

Does not work. Waste of money.
Leaks and cannot be fixed. Difficult to attach. Need to pinch or hammer down tabs and you have no idea if you have done it correctly and why it leaks. After several attempts, hose still leaked. WIll never buy again. Total garbage.

Raccord femelle à clavette de Gilmour
Acheté et installé ce raccord aujourd'hui. Le raccord existant fuyait moins que le nouveau. Mon impression est que ce type de raccord à clavette ne s'installe que sur un boyau avec paroi épaisse de caoutchouc.

Should have bought the Yardworks model
Odd piece. Not sure how this even works. Returned it and bought the Yardworks model for $2 more. Was installed in 5 minutes.

Looks good, isn't!
Ease of attachment, assumed would do the trick. The brass portion is fine, the metal clipping(to hold in place) is pathetic! Yes it holds - but if immersed in water for any length of time - this is a hose attachment - corrodes badly, do not touch.

Ce raccord ne permet pas un joint solide car la zone de contact est bien trop courte. Je ne le recommande pas. Mauvais design et mauvaise decision de Lowes/rona de mettre ce produit en inventaire.

Poor design - waste of money
I bought two of these couplings to make a connector hose to garden reel. I have been unable to prevent the connections from leaking when there is sustained pressure on the connections. These fittings are poorly designed and will not make a water tight hose. Save your money and look for a product which will make a proper seal.

I spent a whole morning trying to install this item on my garden hose with absolutely no success. Even with following the directions and squeezing the flanges to keep it tight to the hose the only success I had was getting a good soaking. It was impossible to stop the water when pressurized from squirting all over the place. Either I am doing something wrong or this product has been developed to drive your customers nuts. Two cut fingers and two band aids later I gave up and will search for another 5/8 female connector.
