Replacement for previous Fellowes shredder
This purchase was to replace a Fellowes shredder that I had for many, many years. The only reason I replaced the old one - which still worked brilliantly - is because I moved from the UK to Canada and was tired of hooking up the UK unit to a transformer to work with Canadian voltage. Otherwise I wouldn't have needed to. Have found Fellowes shredders always reliable and this model is lighter, more attractive, and just as efficient as the old one. I only use occasionally but would like a bit longer than a three minute run time before the machine needs to cool down - hence the one con.

An Excellent Compact Shredder
As a business owner and a PhD student, I generate a large amount of documentation that requires secure disposal, and the Powershred 8C shredder is the perfect quiet, compact and budget-friendly solution for that. It was so perfect that I bought 2! The 8c's small size allows it to easily fit beneath both my home and office desks without taking up too much room while remaining easily accessible. The feature I enjoy most about the 8C is that it provides crosscut shredding. Not only does the crosscutting add to the security level of disposal, but it also makes efficient use of its small bin size. You'd expect with such a small form factor shredder that you'd be constantly having to empty the bin, however, this is not the case with the 8C as the small shred particle size allows the small bin to hold a considerable amount of documents. Overall the build quality of the 8C is fantastic and I can honestly say I am a very satisfied owner of two units.

Great shredder so far!
Great shredder. Not a lot of noise produced by the shredder. Has not jammed once since I purchased. Had about a years worth of shredding to do when I first bought it. Followed the instructions regarding cooling period etc. No issues. Very happy with the purchase for the price I paid. Great for home use.

Basic Shredder Does Its Job
I needed to replace a shredder that broke after many years of use. I wanted something small for home use for occasional shredding of small amounts. This make and model had the features I wanted, seems well made and the price was reasonable. I've been using it for two months with no issues.

best purchase ever
Had previously purchased Staples brand shredder. Both stopped working after 3 months. This shredder is so quiet and efficient. It has built in safety feature of auto cooling down after 3 minutes continuous use. very pleased with this item - will suit our personal needs very well.

Je viens d'acheter le produit et je l'ai testé dès ce soir et je trouve qu'il va très bien et qu'il déchiquette vraiment en petit morceau donc beaucoup mieux que ce que j'avais avant. Avec le bac en plus il est super intéressant. Merci! de cette performance.

Perfect for our home
We purchased the 8C cross shredder for our home use. It's compact and has good safety features. I like the ease of use of the basket. It seems to jam up with shredded paper more than our other shredder but I can overlook that because of the other features.
