Rated 5 out of 5 by Murcat from Very Handy Saw I bought this saw to cut metal items but have found it very useful for cutting other materials as well. Having this multipurpose ability saves me from having to drag out my big heavy trim saw just to accurately cut a couple of pieces of wood, or plastic. Since I probably won't have that much use for it for cutting just metal, the ability to cut other items is a bonus. Seems to be well made and is light enough to carry easily. Very economical too so it was a good buy for the money. Would recommend this saw for light to medium duty work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Buck from Rage 4 chop saw review. I have used this saw to cut 1/8" by 1" mild steel and it has met my expectations. Cuts very fast. The blade has a tendency to vibrate and sing through the cut making a rough edge. I believe this is caused by to much blade speed but not really an issue since I am welding the ends. 1/8" and thinner material laid flat on the saw will slide under the vise a little since the vice is a sheet metal piece so I may add a flat piece of material to the vice to form a sharp corner at the vice to table corner. Still a very nice saw for it's rated duty and the price. I'd buy another.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Evan from Cuts well. Flimsy base. The magic of this saw is really in the blade. It absolutely does cut through various metals like butter. However, in terms of build quality there are some shortcomings. The motor/handle/and chop spring mechanism feel high quality, as I would expect for this mid-grade pice. But the base is thin stamped steel that seems like it belongs on a much cheaper tool. It flexes just under the pressure of tightening down the clamp, which annoyingly causes your workpiece to move just a hair off 'perfect'. The clamp threads and the fence also have a bit of slop/flex. Also, being right-handed I find it awkward that the handle and clamp are all to the left of the blade, and the motor obscures your view on that side. So you have to line up your piece on the right side of the saw and then tighten clamp and operate saw with your left hand. It's the opposite of what I'm used to on a standard miter saw. But I notice all metal chop saws seem to be set up this same "left-handed" way, so I guess there's a reason for it?

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kevin from Good saw for small jobs at home [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The saw is nice and it's easy to setup and use. My first cut of a lamp wire tubing was so quick and smooth I wasn't sure anything actually happened. It was amazing! Cutting 1/2" rebar wasn't as easy though. It struggled a bit with the rebar and I had to go at it in a couple passes to keep the blade moving. If you are going to be doing a bunch of work with rebar or more solid steel, I would go with the bigger saws from this manufacturer. Overall, I'm not disappointed with this saw, especially for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by med415 from has become my go to metal working saw. I picked one of these up a while back to be something easily portable when I was metal working. I have since fallen in love with it. Yes its limited on the sizes of metal it can cut but it chops though even the hardest steels quickly without a ton of sparks and metal dust, and at a faster rate then the old abrasive saws I used to use.

I went through the blade included with the saw as well a second Evolution Power Tools Steel Cutting Saw Blade cutting 3/16" angle iron. It didn't last near as long as expected before requiring sharpening. An expensive lesson.

The action was smooth, the fence was dead accurate and it sliced through the aluminum bar stock like butter. The only complaint was it had a really cheap chain that's used to hold the saw in the lowered position for storing

I was surprised at the power of the motor as there was no stalling at any time. The only recommendation I can make is to have a larger and clearer photo of how to install the blade.
