Description
Featuring a 2.5-Gallon capacity, this Essick Air humidifier adds invisible moisture to your environment by moving dry air through a saturated wick. Maintaining proper humidity levels between 30-50 % in your home/office/workplace has been scientifically proven to help prevent the flu and allergies. Proper humidity hydrates your skin, alleviates dry eyes, scratchy throats and can reduce snoring. It also protects fine furniture, musical instruments, collectibles and wood floors. Proper humidity also makes you feel warmer, allowing you to lower your thermostat setting which will save money. Use of a ceiling fan helps distribute moisture output. This humidifier has a daily output of 8.2 gallons and can cover up to 2600 square feet. Use of Essick Air 1970 bacteria treatment controls bacteria/algae build-up.

How often do you have to change the filter
I ran the unit continuously for about 4 weeks before the CF (change filter) message came on so I need to change the filter monthly. Also of note, we have hard water in our city so I also add humidifier water treatment with every fill up so I think this helped prolong the filter.

WHEN I PUT MY HUMIDIFIER ON AT NIGHT I WAKE UP THROAT AND NOISE IS RAW AND SOUR HOW COM
Raw and sour versus dry. Hmmm? Maybe you have a throat infection or your salivary gland(s) are not working (infection or stone).

Does this humidifier have a filter included with machine?
Yes, "Evaporative Humidifier Wick" is already installed. Just fill the tank with water and make sure you open valve at bottom to fill and then turn it to closed before lifting it back to put on machine. Can buy replacement "wicks" at Lowes also. Excellent humidifier and second one in use in our home.

How often does the filter need to be replaced?
It depends on how much it runs, how hard the water is etc. I usually budget for a new filter at the beginning of each season and at least once during the winter season.

Exceeds my expectations.
After trying an ultrasonic device last winter and getting everything covered in white powder, I was looking for an efficient cool-mist humidifier. This unit has been in use for over two weeks and has maintained a humidity level of almost 40% in my entire house during the -20°C outside temperatures recently experienced. It remains to be seen how long the filter/wick will last, but the effectiveness so far is promising and even if the filter has to be replaced, at $25 it's still well worthwhile IMHO.

Just purchased
I have numerous musical instruments prior to purchasing this humidifier I had purchased several other makes of humidifiers from other stores that I ended up taking back for one reason or another. This humidifier has been running for 4 days on a fill up and keeping my area at a constant 45-70 to 72 it is without a doubt an excellent buy especially with the knock off price grab one you won't regret it.

A scam
No matter what type of water you pour into the humidifier, the type of bacteriostat, etc.
Works well for the first 2 days. After that, it starts smelling like crap.
If you want to keep changing filters every week, buy this product.
Every filter costs $24, and they are very hard to find everywhere.

It does the job
Bought this unit about 4 years ago, and it works well in the condo (1050 sq.ft.). Only issue is that the filter lasts only a few weeks. Two filters are needed for the season in Mississauga. It pays to shop around for the filter.

Quickly humidifies the room
I am impressed with how quickly it humidifies. The low fan speed is quiet the high speed is fairly loud.

Works great at putting water in the air. Shuts off when empty. Good stopper when refilling.
