I bought this basket to keep handtools and oil, diesel, and gas cans in. The basket is doing the job, but the bottom of the basket is already showing signs of warping and denting. I will be able to cut some supports from spare metal I have laying around, but I feel like a 500 lbs weight limit basket should have this handled.

love it!
went to visit family in Texas with 4 kids and we didn't have to put any luggage in the suv it was very nice ...also when we carried luggage in the hotel we just put the gate down I did add some stickers though for driving at night

Excellent for transporting lots of luggage!
Super easy to load, place on car and really does allow back door to open! Highly recommend using bungee cords to hold luggage in place instead of straps included.

Practical, lightweight, convenient, but needs care
Purchased to carry luggage on a 6 hour trip. Assembly took some time since some of the bolt locations were obstructed. Space is great, the fences tilt slightly inward to protect your cargo. A little rust after on trip in a little rain. So 4 stars.

Very good choice.
Great quality. Very sold. Two areas for improvement: a way to stabilize the rack so it doesn’t rock so much; easier way to get a locking pin in. Had to crawl on my back and needed a second person’s help to get the pin in. (To be fair, I have a mini van with low ground clearance). I would still recommend this rack.

The bottom is 2 pieces with a thin metal plate clamping them to the square tubing that goes into the hitch. I had mine on the back of my camper for hauling some firewood. The bottom of the carrier came apart and my firewood scattered all over the highway. The 2 piece bottom is a very poor design.

UNSTABLE AND NUTS COMING LOOSE TO OFTEN!
IT LOOKS GREAT, But the stability is not great at all. Always having to tighten the nuts. Always needed to make sure its level. Yes I know its not always going to sit still. But nuts coming loose and the stability make it feel unsafe. Going to return if I can.
