Erickson Rear Hitch Carrier -- A Good Buy
I'm always skeptical when something is described as "heavy duty' but this rear hitch carrier is - well built and strong. I didn't exceed the 500 lb. state limit when I loaded 8 bags of wet topsoil into it yesterday but I was about 400 lbs evenly distributed. The load felt solid hooked to the back of our 4-Runner I had to call Erickson b/c I couldn't find the instructions for assembly and they were very nice. I'm kind of embarrassed b/c I found the assembly instructions right after I hung up. Space cadet, here. They were very nice about it and emailed me the brochure. Bottom line. This is good. I can see I'll have many uses for it. I'm a fairly strong senior; I had no problem handling it myself but it is a little heavy lifting it into the 2 inch receiver. I needed something strong. FWIW, it looks good on my vehicle. Shipping was fast. Nuts and bolts lined up. Buy this one.
