Can this power station be charged via a solar panel...
Hi CC4EGO, great question! We'd recommend looking at our solar charger: ch1800. You can find more details on the EGO website. Thank you for your question.

Can I combine a 56V 7.5 a with a 56V 5 a battery. We have the lawnmower and would like to get a snowblower but it has different size batteries.
Hi GrayHar2021, good question. Yes, you can combine different Ah EGO batteries. However, for optimum performance we advise using the same size. Thank you for your question.

Nice unit but...some drawbacks.
The inverter works as described. EGO should change the wording on the packaging to reflect 2000 watt continuous inverter with a 3000 watt peak instead of 3000 watt inverter as the first thing you see (somewhat misleading).
If you need to use this unit with the solar charger you will need to charge the unit during sunlight hours and use it when the batteries are charged up as you cannot use it while it is charging. I have the solar charger as well and it also seems to work as described but I wish that EGO would somehow overcome this design and allow the end user to have access to power while charging. Would give a 5 star rating except for this.

Power for anywhere
This is an awesome product! It does exactly what I thought it would. It is quiet, and no gas fumes. I also love the Ego connect app. I’m a data guy, and the gauges are perfect. The only thing I would change is offer a rapid charger as an extra. If you fully depleted all four 7.5 amp hour batteries, it takes something like 10 hours to recharge. I want to use this on my boat, and the main attraction is I don’t have to listen to the generator. But I can deplete the batteries faster than they charge. Now I have one rapid charger. I can use it to charge a battery in one hour. If I could do all four in an hour, or at least all four in four hours that would be better.

Quiet, pure sine wave power.
Very nicely designed product. Attractive. Highly functional. I have other EGO products so the battery interchangeability is a big plus for me. I only have one complaint. We need a fast charger. With 4 7.5 Ah batteries the charge time is 12 to 13 hours. Way too long.
I also have one item on my wish list. Please develop a solar charge capability. In a long term grid down situation I have no way to recharge my unit and once the batteries are depleted it becomes useless to me.

Good while batteries last
I have bought into the Ego system, leaf blower, trimmer, even the chain saw.
The main issues are the declining battery life over time and the expense to replace.them.. After 3 years my battery power is down probably 50% with 2 batteries> There is no power gauge on them but I can tell by the run time how poor they are now. They are very expensive to replace. The weight of the batteries is much heavier than a corded blower or trimmer. With all the weight in the back it is difficult to hold for a prolonged period It is almost cheaper to buy a whole new unit with a battery included that replace batteries.

Green, Clean, Mean and easy to use product
I have been using Ego products for more than a year. This Nexus came with two 7.5Ah batteries. I already have 3 5Ah batteries. I have a fast charger and charged the new ones fairly quickly. I took the unit and plugged in a portable Mueller heater and it works fine and the display showed a couple hours of use, I then plugged in a floor lamp and now the time available jumped up to 22+ hours. Depending on the wattage draw the available time varies. Bluetooth and WiFi worked just fine as well. You can expect some very low noise but that one can adjust to over time.

Indoor backup power runs TV during hurricanes
Needed a larger backup power source for indoor use during long blackouts while a hurricane is raging. H. Sally knocked out our power for 3 days here, and for first 12 hours, we couldn't use our generator outdoors due to fierce heavy rains. Although we have collected together numerous flashlights, cell phones, batteries, inverters and power packs over the years, nothing could power up a TV to add a little comfort and normalcy. This EGO Power unit does which runs an older 40" TV with an indoor antenna for 7.5 hours. Added an extra battery to achieve over 12 hours with both a TV and lamp on. Can recharge it with the generator so it is available flexibly as needed after storms pass but blackouts persist.

Utilizes 156 2.5 amp Lithium cells, iffy app
The product seems to work as advertised. Current Lithium battery and inverter technology set what is expected for 156 2.5 ampere hour lithium batteries (this is 12 parallel sets of 13 lithium batteries in series). I ran two small chest freezers for about 10 minutes with the product showing a wildly varying estimated operating time. I did not let it run to full discharge. Although it was showing a constantly reducing time to full discharge it still showed full charge when I plugged the charger back in. The app on the iPhone is also confusing. It doesn't do much and it was not apparent that it was connected on WiFi. I finally realized when it was showing temperature it was connected to the Nexus. But that was the limit to the functionality.

Better than nothing
Its good to have in a power outage until the batteries run out. Should have made a solar option. The natures generator 1800W costs a bit less and comes with a solar panel or wind turbine option but has lead acid batteries. The EGO only operates at 2000 watts continuously not 3000k; the surges is up to 3k. All in all I guess it is better to have this than nothing. I have looked into the natures generator due to the solar option so I might sell my EGO if no solar option is available soon or if I find it too expensive to build a solar option to charge my EGO batteries.
