with the 4.0ah batteries and the rapid charger how long does it take to charge the batteries? can these batteries be used with a lawnmower as well?
Hello,
From depleted the rapid charger will charge the 4.0Ah battery in approximately 35 minutes. All of the EGO 56v batteries are compatible with the EGO 56v tools. Thank you for your inquiry!

Can one use a 4.0AH and a 5.0AH battery, instead of the two 4.0AH batteries?
Hi, RKWM! We appreciate you reaching out! All EGO batteries are compatible with each other, however your runtime will differ depending on the size battery you're using! Thank you for your question.

Can you store this unit outside under a tarp when finished clearing snow? I don't have a garage.
Hi Questiondude, good question. We'd recommend a sheltered area but as long as it is covered and the batteries have been removed, that should also be sufficient. We're here if you need further assistance: 855 346 5656. Thank you for your question.

does the unit require one battery to run, or do I need to use both batteries at the same time
Hi skullkeeper, good question. For optimum performance, we recommend using two batteries but it will run with one. However, the run time would be significantly less. Thank you for your question.

great machine, but...
Tried the EGO snow thrower in about 10" of snow and it worked great. But when it came to the heavy compacted snowbank left by the street plow on my driveway, it failed me. Since it is not self-propelled you have to push the blower into the snow bank yourself and that was really hard on the shoulders. Once into the snow bank it blew the snow up and away readily. But I want a snowblower to do all the work for me and the EGO does only one part.
Conclusion: if you are dealing with uncompacted snow only, its a great machine. But if you have to deal with a heavy compacted snowbank, such as left by a street plow, this is not your machine.

Happy with the 7.5ah battery life but, the first two snows I tried to use it on were about 1-1.5 inches deep and it only would blow the snow about 6 feet at best on high power. When I went over the areas that built up more from the previous path it seemed better but not more then about 10-12' Far less then advertised. I hope it does better on deeper snow to come. I will have to contact support to find out why this isn't throwing snow farther if it continues on larger amounts of snow. Bottom scraper wants to put a drag on concrete walks, I recommend another long lasting edge keeping material for scraper. I also recommend larger rubber wheels for better performance.

This snow blower is amazing!
I bought this snow blower before Christmas of 2017 an didn't have to use it much until our big Chicago snow in Feb' of 2018. 13" of snow fell in (2) days and I gave this snow blower a workout! I first used it on 9" of snow and then the second snow fall was 4". My neighbors were so impressed they had to come over and look at it. One of my neighbors went out and bought one the next day! They batteries never gave out even when I helped my neighbor snow blow his driveway. I am so impressed with this product that I am going to buy the EGO lawnmower in spring and sell my Honda mower.

Value for money
I bought this model about a month ago and am please to say that I invested in it. I get a decent amount of snow. Approx 4 to 6 inches each time it falls. I also have a 8 car driveway. The machine cleared the driveway and the side walks within 40 mins and on a single battery charge. The machine is extremely light and can be operated by a 10 year old child. Battery recharge time is also fairly quick. The machine can be operated on a single battery or 2. I would say really great value for money as also no maintenance is required as compared to a gas blower. Does a very good job for a single stage blower. Hope it stands the test of time and last for a few years.

Great Blower- Terrible Cutting Edge
I am going on my 3rd year with this blower. I live at 7000 ft elevation with a simple driveway and about 75' of sidewalk. The blower is phenominal for a battery operated unit. It does everything as advertised. Where i give Ego a 1 star is the cutting edge for multiple reasons. 1- Cheap Plastic (always have an extra available) I went through three cutting edges last year. 2- It's expensive for what you get. 3. Ego won't listen when a multitude of people suggest they switch to a Nylon cutting edge. 4. They run out of stock on them and nobody who is authorized dealer carries their parts. Makes me wonder if they make more off wear items than the actual sale of the unit. I will finish with a high note on Ego as their customer service and warranty are responsive and will be clear on what they can and can't do for you.

We are EGO MANIACS!!!
We have had the EGO snow blower since early fall, and have had the heavy-duty leaf blower for a couple of years. Both have chargers, and with the array of batteries; we have been able to tackle snows up to 6"-8" deep, from light to heavy consistency. I am sure that an 18" deep, heavy & wet snowfall would be a challenge. However, we do not have to deal with the purchase, storage & disposal of special gasoline designed for small engines.
We live at about 6000 foot elevation in Draper, Utah and deal with frequent temperature inversions which are made much worse by gasoline combustion emissions. We are very satisfied with the Ego line of products!

I Tried to Help the Environment-- this didn't help
This machine works great in dry and fluffy snow, and that's when it throws it 35 feet. In wet heavy snow, it's extremely difficult to push it through. I had to push hard for a foot and then wait for it to unclog, over and over. My neighbor with his equally sized 21" gas powered Toro was finished and having his 2nd morning coffee as he watched me struggle and give up. I gave up and bought a new Toro and was immediately relieved of my struggle.
It would also be way more convenient to have an on-board charger so it could plugged in to a wall outlet.
Not well suited for a Chicago winter.
I do have an Ego Blower and an Ego Chainsaw that work great.

Electric Snowblower Outperforms Gas!
I bought the EGO snowblower after reading some favorable reviews. We just had our first snowfall of the year and it was super heavy, slushy stuff.
The EGO handled it well. It threw the slush a good 20 feet or more, and was very easy to handle. The LED lights were great as well.
Having used 2 stage snowblowers in the past, I found the EGO a welcome change. Push button start, and easy to handle around the driveway and sidewalks.
The storage factor is awesome, taking up so much less space than a gas unit. Less hassle, great performance. Looking forward to the next snowfall! Bring it on.
