Rated 3 out of 5 by Kathy52664 from Short life if you can get it to fully charge. The 7.5 battery was included with the purchase of the new Ego mower in April 2021. In August of 2021 I returned it for a new 7.5 because I could barely get 20 min of use. It would not fully charge. I bought an additional 5.0 battery and it lasts 3x longer than the 7.5 battery. I cannot get the 7.5 to fully charge ( again ). Its not my charger because the 5.0 fully charges. Is there an issue with the 7.5 batteries ?? I do not bag my grass because that would take too much battery life. I always mulch it. ( typically every 2-3 days) . So it's not because I allow my grass to get too long. Can you advise ?? The current 7.5 is still under warranty.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JerryC from Do not overcharge battery This is my third battery for my Ego 21-inch mower. The first battery lasted for one season. At first I was getting 55 minutes of mowing time even in self propelled mode. In season 2 my mowing time decreased to 20 minutes then 10 then nothing. Customer support sent me a new battery under warranty but advised that you should not leave it on the charger overnight. When it is fully charged, take it off the charger (70 minutes max) or it will overheat. I purchased this third battery as a backup but after a few mowings it gives fewer minutes of service each time. What's really bad is that the battery cost more than half the original price of the mower, battery, and charger. Ego needs to improve this.

I ended up moving in 2020 and I had the battery stored in my apartment from 2020 till I bought my first home in September of 2021. Well here I am now in June of 2022 and I went to use my Ego mower for its second season and the battery won’t charge. I know it’s not the charger either, because my mother bought the same mower in 2017 and her battery will charge on my charger. I’m very disappointed with how much a new battery costs. I’m curious if there’s anything this company can do to rectify this situation, considering I only used the mower for one season.

I have two mowers, 2 blowers, snow blower, trimmer/edger, chainsaw, and have had 8 different batteries with 100% failure rate on batteries right after the warrantee period. The batteries cost MORE than other brand entire systems but you get locked in. I have this new 7.5 Amp Hour battery (so I have two - my only two batteries that work now) and if it goes bad I will transition to another brand. 3 star because the tools themselves are pretty darn good.

I have bought the mower and i loved the product so much that I then went and bought the hedger and blower but to my surprise, the batteries went bad just 35 days after the warranty was over :( I was bragging this product to all my friends and now i will have to tell them to not buy this as the batteries do not last ! and since i was so close to the warranty i would of taught they would of helped me with this! called customer service 2 times and they both said they could not help me with this as i was over the warranty ...obviously, now that i see the reviews, the battery is a big flaw of this product ....one very disappointed customer !

Rated 1 out of 5 by Runbigfoot from Disappointed in the 7.5 Amp Hour Battery I need to call and have it replaced. Have only used it about a year and tt has less capacity than my 5A battery that came with my mower two years ago. Appears to have a bad cell or two somewhere in the pack. It just doesn't want to work. Sometimes it freaks out when on the charger and the lights start flashing until I remove it and reinstall it. After 15 minutes on the mower it shows little to no life let, but when placed on the charger it'll show a higher charge value. Very disappointed in its longevity and performance.

The second year, last year, the battery power lasted for 5-10 minutes after having been fully charged. It would have to be recharged at which time the power lasted a bit longer. Just dropped the battery in the charger today for the first time this season, which is the battery's 3rd season. It won't take a charge and needs to be replaced. Poor performance EGO. You need to do better than this. Thinking of selling all of the EGO equipment I purchased last year for a more durable product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by James from Worked great for a season I bought the 21” mower in the spring of 2021 and the mower performed as expected that year. The battery would sometimes last for an hour. In 2022 it worked pretty good but noticed that the battery life wasn’t as good, as the battery life was good for only about 30-35min. This year (2023) the battery will keep a charge for about 10-15min. It takes a solid 1-1.50hrs to charge! After a charge it’s good for another 10-15 min. A total waste of money!!!! My advice, don’t spend the money on this mower. For the money this thing cost I could have bought a decent gas powered mower and not worried about disposing of this piece of trash!!
